We have a running game after all
You can say it was giving chris ivory the ball that got our run game going
Im just happy that all the backs contributed, especially ingram who looked like freaking PT on that 23 yard run, pinballing off defenders and keeping his legs churning ingram had 7 rushes for 44 yards with an average of 6.3 yards per rush Ivory 10 rushes for 48 yards and the TD PT 6 rushes for 44 yards even though its not a huge total, all of our backs contributed and complimented eachother well 130+ rushing yards is going to win you games I hope ingram continues to play with that fire he showed last night Time for us to make a run, if we can it will be with a consistent run game |
May be the last defense we face that has no defensive coordinator to speak of.

Re: We have a running game after all
We'll see. We need to beat Atlanta.
|
Our defense will prevent that from happening.

Re: We have a running game after all
Everyone has a run game against Philly. You guys are funny you beat a garbage team like Bucs and say your D is coming around, get smashed by Denver and say the D is garbage, beat the Iigles and think your D is great and run game is back. lol

Re: We have a running game after all
It's called being a fan genius. When they do something positive, you become hopeful, encouraged, and supportive. When they play terribly, they get dissected and *****ed at. It's kind of being a parent in a sense. I don't see the humor in it at all.
And just to clarify, the majority of this board believe the defense sucks... have and still does. It doesn't change the fact they can be encouraged by the results from last night. Profootball Focus ranks our offensive line as a top 10 run blocking line(top 6 actually). The results haven't been there because we haven't been dedicated to it... but we can run the ball if we do. After all, this was the same team that ranked 6 last year in rushing... and we basically have the same personnel here. Next time you come in a thread and try to troll, TRY HARDER. |
Re: We have a running game after all
PT was PT - dude is a warrior - enough said.
Chris Ivory played well. Mark Ingram saw Ivory play well and imagined life on the inactive list... |

Hey "Saintkiller" - just wait to hear what we say about Atlanta come playoff time. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/spo...ng-method1.jpg |
Re: We have a running game after all
The Saints actually tried to run the ball and have some balance. Amazing how actually using your great talent at RB pays off. Doh!
|
Re: We have a running game after all
Since RB is by committee all need to be involved; after catching a few dump off passes Ingram may not be looked at as just running the ball; Ivory stays in beast-mode but did anyone else notice how he holds the ball - still very loosely, PT is PT (still the best out the bunch) and other than the fumble on the KO return Cadet did OK for the amount of time he was in... If we could get this type of performance against the Falcons - they will have their 1st lost - in the words of BART SCOTT "CAN'T WAIT"!!!!!

I doubt that the Falcons are as inept as the beagles. Meg Ryan's offense is all quick throws, so forget about a repeat of this week.

Re: We have a running game after all
I would definitely say it played a part. When Ivory is active and playing, we make a better effort in running the football. So while he may not be the sole reason why we ran the ball well, it played a part in the grand scheme of things. Being a one dimensional player(the way we use him), in my opinion, has a certain positive impact on our offense. It makes us commit.

Re: We have a running game after all
Sproles being out, is what brought in Ivory RB, and Cadet ST. No one has seen them this year and didn't know hot to key off of them. That changed the entire dynamic of our offense. Ivory became the between the tackled runner and Ingram was used on the outside more than normal.
UNTIL we were in the 4th Qtr and trying to run only.. that was a 3 and out. They knew what was coming. RBs do not MAKE holes, they read them, not when its a 15 yard run.. Our O-Line was making holes. Dont misunderstand this, I am a HUGE fan of Ivory. |
Re: We have a running game after all
It has nothing to do with our running backs, its our system. When we commit to the run with the right backs in the right position at the right time. Look at how Reggie is being used in Miami, he is tearing it up, he just didn't fit here. If we continue to commit and for gods sake keep handing Ivory the rock, our running game could be one of the best.

Re: We have a running game after all
It has EVERYTHING to do with players that the Beagles couldn't watch on tape before the game.
|
Re: We have a running game after all
It was a combination of two important things
1-Our O-line opened holes, and big ones too. 2- See number 1. |
Re: We have a running game after all
Shanle could have walked through them.
