Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
This is Chris Ivory's third season as a New Orleans running back, yet it seems like he keeps having to reintroduce himself to Saints Nation.

Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
Overlooked by the Saints? WTF??? He was a fumble machine at practice and struggled to pick up pass protections. Joe Vitt himself said he'd gotten much better in pass protection, which earned him a shot on the field.
I guess everyone forgets 3 weeks ago when trade rumors were floating around the team stated "Chris Ivory ain't going anywhere". Overlooked my ass. |
Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
For an undrafted free- agent, he's not half bad. Maybe the powers to be can finally give him a fair deal to showcase what he truely is. A true runner that has speed, power, vision and a heart.

Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
Any coach in his right mind would never cut Ivory loose at 100%, in practice, on his defense. You'd be risking injury to the likes of Harper, Jenkins and such.
However, the defensive players are free to strip the football at 100% in practice. Any player close enough to strip a football from Ivory is probably laying on his back at some point during the stripping process. He's COMBATIVE. LOL Alaska |

I'm happy with the way both have been playing. Ivory was clearly the spark that got things going, though.

Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
I think Ivory's "showings" have sparked Ingram a little bit. Ingram seems to now run like a bulldozer. Not big numbers yet from Ingram but I think this is the "push" he needs.

Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
I must say that both Ivory and Ingram have been much much better this year. With Ingram it is HOW he's run the ball this year; physical, decisive, explosive. We didn't see that last year. With Ivory, we knew he was a good runner, but he was such a fumble machine that you couldn't count on him not to cough it up; this year he is protecting the ball and still running angry like Adrian Peterson.

Atlanta is trailing Cleveland by 10 right now. It started with a turn over, which is what our coaches are afraid of. Need I say more?

Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
Ingram is starting to look good.

Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
Looks like Ivory is being overlooked again today! Are they saving him for the playoff run?

Re: Overlooked Ivory a very pleasant surprise for the Saints ... again
Nah. Very happy with the way this turned out. Ingram gets a well-deserved score and everyone gets their hands on the ball.
There is NO ANSWER for our offense right now. WhoDat?! Alaska |

Its obvious the play of the O-line has improved since Vitt came back and Kromer turned his attention to the O-line. They aren't getting shoved backwards nearly as much and our RB's aren't getting pummelled 3 yards behind the line. |
