Drew Brees giving $1M to relief effort

NEW YORK -- New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees says he is donating $1 million to Superstorm Sandy relief efforts.

Brees told CBS' "Person to Person" in an interview to air Friday that the donation will come through the Dream Foundation he runs with his wife, Brittany. He did not say who will be receiving the donation.

Brees says he and his wife want to give back what's been given to them. They say their foundation will also be donating $2 million to various New Orleans organizations over the next several months.

Luckily we gave it to him or a lot of needy people would have received nothing from the Saints organization.

I appreciate his relief efforts and I am saying this jokingly. Only 1 million!!! He'll have 60 by seasons end right? Again joke!!!!

Feeling teary eyed here, all I can say is very good from the
Mr. & Mrs. Brees.
Very good.
Mr. and Mrs. B know what Katrina did to N.O. and the Gulf Coast States.
We here all know exacty how the NE cities look....like a bomb went off. We know of the private and public and company property /businesses destroyed.

Other sites were saying Drew should not be the highest payed QB in the NFL, till I pointed out to them that he has given 14 million to various charities and veterans causes. Not counting this new donation.
What has their elite QB's given in time and money to the needy?

..and they have the gall to even suggest he's fake or over payed..Brees deserves even more than he's payed because he has the moral character to do what is right with it, and works very hard for it. I think we are the luckiest team in the NFL to have a QB that reflects our own moral upbringing.

	Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009. Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before.
