Saints signed OT William Robinson

Saints signed OT William Robinson.

Veteran roster yo-yo Greg Camarillo was released in a corresponding move. Robinson spent time on the Saints practice squad last season before joining the Jaguars in December. He will add depth with Zach Strief (groin) and Charles Brown (knee) nursing injuries.

Makes sense but did we ever designate anyone to IR with the ability to return this year? Seems like this would have been a good tag for Strief since the groin injury would probably be 6 to 8 weeks to heal for someone who needs leg strength.

I think the Saints did that with Vilma; I could be wrong. He would be the logical choice.

Not a good season to be a Saints' offensive lineman... they've already had Strief, Brown, Tupou, Tiller, and Jones go down with an injury - that I can remember at the moment.

Here's to hoping they won't get anymore injuries to that line!

Vilma wasn't on the IR list, he was on the special list for "suspension handed down by the commissioner" or something like that. I can't remember what the exact wording was for the list he was on, but it wasn't the IR list.

We didn't give anybody the IR designated to return tag... at least not that I'm aware of.

I only watched a really condensed version of the game with basically all breaks between plays being cut out. When did Brown go down? And how bad did it look?

I think Brown got hurt with 1:55 remaining on the 2nd quarter. It was the first play after the two minute warning and after Brees was awarded that late time out call on the previous play.

It was that 17 yard throw to Colston where Giordano, the FS from the Raiders, got hurt trying to defend the pass. The fact that Giordano was hurt probably caused the cameras to miss Brown hobbling off the field.

It seemed like Brown got tangled up with Evans trying to defend the Raiders' pass rusher, but it was kind of hard to really see since the camera moved away to follow Colston at the moment when Brown went down. On the next play where Graham fumbled, Harris was already on the field as the RT.

In any case, Brown was carted off to the locker-room, so I guess he couldn't put any weight on that ankle, but it was very hard to determine how severe the injury really was based on the TV feed alone.

Thanks! I missed that completely. I guess the fact I didn't even think of it while watching the game shows a job well done by the replacement.
