November has been all Saints for New Orleans
What a coincidence that the strongly Catholic city of New Orleans just happened to be awarded an NFL franchise in 1966 on Nov. 1 -- All Saints' Day, a religious holiday also called All Hallows celebrated by Catholics -- and the nickname Saints was later chosen for the team.
What a coincidence that the Saints have had the spirit with them in November for the last four seasons. With a 38-17 win at Oakland on Sunday, New Orleans went to 3-0 in November this year and 14-0 in November since 2009 -- the year of their one Super Bowl appearance and championship. The Saints were 5-0 in November of 2009 and were 11-0 as that month ended before a 13-0 start and a 16-3 finish. http://www.thetowntalk.com/article/2...ts-New-Orleans |
Re: November has been all Saints for New Orleans
If we take this game without Payton we will have earned the right to brag about November victories.
