Pete Carmichael Could be headed to Boston College
1 Attachment(s)
Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael may be a candidate for the head-coaching vacancy at his alma mater, Boston College.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Carmichael is on the radar at Boston College, which fired coach Frank Spaziani on Sunday, at the end of a 2-10 season. Pete Carmichael could leave Saints for Boston College | ProFootballTalk |
Re: Pete Carmichael
I don't think he will leave Brees and Payton, but who knows...

Re: Pete Carmichael
Wouldn't surprise me if he left, this season is kinda proving that he isn't exactly the hand that rocks the cradle so to speak
Go get yours Pete, you've earned it |

Re: Pete Carmichael
I remember Pete saying that he's not interested in being a head coach. With that being said, go for it... I guess. It would be interesting to see what might be different with a new offensive coordinator but I think Sean and Drew run that show anyway so it probably wouldn't matter.

Re: Pete Carmichael
With Bree's n Payton there I wouldn't be worried if he went on next year

Re: Pete Carmichael
Some one might have put a bug in his pass happy butt. Boston College will not ever run the ball now for sure!!

Re: Pete Carmichael Could be headed to Boston College
There's no guarantee that Payton will even be back. Brees may just be stuck here on his own. This thing is getting pretty muddy.

It would not shock me at all.

Re: Pete Carmichael Could be headed to Boston College
Would be disappointed to see him go, but the way these things with coordinators sometimes work, they often kind of start with a bang and then taper off, and then work themselves out when it's time for a change. 2006: Doug Marone, first year, Saints OC, NFC Championship appearance, then tapered off the two years after that. 2009: Pete Carmichael, big splash, Super Bowl his first year, and an exceptionally good run since then, but seems to be maybe kind of tapering off lately or getting a little "stale." Would be happy to have him stay, when Payton returns, but change at the coordinator level is not always necessarily a bad thing. Assuming for right now that Sean Payton comes back, I think Brees, Payton and a new and unpredictable OC on offense, combined with the second year of Spags' "system"and new players on D, could equal an unstoppable juggernaut next season, IMHO.

Re: Pete Carmichael Could be headed to Boston College
Carmichael has the easiest OC job in the history of Football...as long as Payton is back who cares

Re: Pete Carmichael Could be headed to Boston College
How is this even news? Call me when he is offered a job much less accepted it.

Re: Pete Carmichael Could be headed to Boston College
After the way he's been play calling this year... I'd say he was nothing more than a clipboard holder... Payton/Brees is the man.

Re: Pete Carmichael Could be headed to Boston College
You can never fault a man for wanting to better himself, if in fact everything being reported are true.
