Bryce Harris on IR
1 Attachment(s)
...with a broken bone.
Saints assistant head coach Joe Vitt says the club has placed Harris on injured reserve, ending his season. Harris made his first start against San Francisco on Sunday, but left in the first quarter with a broken bone in his right leg. (Updated 11/25/12) STATS LLC Advice He played because regular starter Zach Strief was not ready to return from his left groin injury, and Strief's primary backup, Charles Brown, hurt his right knee a week earlier. Vitt declined to say whether Strief would return at Atlanta on Thursday night. The Saints filled the open roster spot with tight end Michael Higgins from their practice squad. http://media.nola.com/tpphotos/photo...4-standard.jpg Bryce Harris, T, New Orleans Saints, NFL - CBSSports.com Also here Bryce Harris of New Orleans Saints placed on injured reserve - ESPN Zach Strief limited as Saints place Bryce Harris on injured reserve | ProFootballTalk |
Re: Bryce Harris on IR
Makes sense... We have no Tackles so we back fill with TEs.

Man that sucks for the kid. First start and he breaks a bone. Hope he gets better and comes back, it seemed t me like he atleast provided good depth.

Re: Bryce Harris on IR
Wow. So strange, that the 49ers came into the game knowing he was the weakest link on the O line and then ACCIDENTALLY they roll up his leg while he was engaged in blocking a different player, in the 1st quarter. Such a... coincidence.... Thank goodness that they don't condone or allow "intent to injure" in the NFL, anymore, and thank goodness no one coaches it or tells their players to do it, now that we've gotten rid of that nasty Gregg Williams and lying Sean Payton. Otherwise, people might get the wrong idea when season-ending accidents like this happen on an otherwise routine play in the first quarter of a game, with multiple 49er players involved in causing the injury. Who knows, the casual fans might even think somebody was trying to intentionally injure somebody, or something terrible like that, and we all know that's not true. It sure seems to happen with the 49ers a lot, but that must be just coincidence.

Re: Bryce Harris on IR
That RT position is a revolving door, as has been the whole O-line when considering all the injured depth guys at the other positions as well.
Shame for the guy really, he gets a chance to show his worth and then gets injured early in the game. :-( Oh, and I'd like to once again point out that even Strief himself is not really a starter caliber RT, so they really need to address the tackle positions - since Bushrod's contract is up - in the draft and on the FA market. |
