Horrible playcalling all year and the little things that good coaching can overcome were the reasons the Saints came up short this year. Last night for example, the Saints were gouging the Falcons with the run, had several 2nd and shorts, and Carmichael absolutely refuses to run the ball two times in a row. He calls the game like a video game player. Just horrible. Plus, I don't understand the need to feed Sproles. It's tells the defense it's 95% likely a pass, he's a HUGE liability in pass protection, and is guaranteed to have a couple drops. Not rolling some occasional help to a RT that is coming off a groin injury and not the most athletic to begin with is HORRIBLE. Strief put in a gutsy effort. I give him big props. But, to leave him one on one with one of the leagues best pass rushers is a bad idea if he was fully healthy. Simple things. Obvious things. In my opinion, only two teams really outplayed the Saints. Washington and Denver. The losses to Carolina and the Chiefs were inexcusible. At worst, the Saints should be 7-5. Oh well. Hurry back coach Payton.

In all reality, it's not over yet. Every team we are stuck in the middle of the NFC with will probably lose this weekend. We are in a big clump of Suck. Which is appropriate, since that is the only way Atlanta gets to be the best of the NFC. The wildcard team for the NFC is more than likely a .500 team, and we are still in that hunt, like it or not.

Now to watch the EACH game for what it is, a separate game to enjoy or not depending on the play.

There are several teams with head coaches that have done worse this season. Making it this far into the season with playoff hopes gives me a lot of hope for teh future.

I just don't understand why fans had playoff hope this season. The Saints have overall played hard and inspired, though the D has absolutely sucked for most of the year. We've endured coaching, front office, and player suspensions.

Still, Ill always have faith that the Saints will battle on with pride. Hey, there's always next year. Had I said this in other groups, it would've been at least 50 neg reps. Oh wait. I have like 6 games in...
