Worst Game Ever for Brees.
 

After a couple of brief congratulatory hand-slaps, Brees ran through the tunnel at the northwest corner of the Georgia Dome, the first Saint to leave the field. He ran under the sign that read THE SAINTS AIN'T ALL DAT. He ran through the traffic jam of moving trucks wedged in the Dome's tunnels. He ran past the black-and-gold-spangles of several female Saints fans. He ran to the door of Locker Room 2 and disappeared inside.

But he couldn't outrun this mess of a game. He couldn't outrun his five interceptions. He couldn't outrun the end of a 54-game touchdown streak. And he couldn't outrun the train wreck of a play sequence at the end of the first half, one that saw New Orleans stall out on Atlanta's 3-yard line and miss out on any chance to cut into a 10-point Falcons lead.

He had a horrific game but geeze he is still a HOFer & will carry NOLA to the playoffs & beyond for several more seasons. Would you guys trade him for anyone else?

Everyone is allowed to have a bad game even Drew. He'll bounce back next Sunday against the Giants. No Problem here.

In a Unprescendeted year. Take it one game, one day at a time. If you want to hang someone hang Roger Goodell. Drew Brees is stiill one of the greatest Quarterback we have ever seen.

Glad the streak is over, it was a distraction.
Glad his worse game was this year and not let's say in the Superbowl a few years ago.
Still glad he is our QB.

If you read the post game quotes after the game, he took responsibility of the loss and the last three basically.

It wouldn't be so bad but his game against San Fran was terrible too. We just need this season to end as soon as possible.

In a heartbeat. One that comes to mind right away is RGIII...or Andrew Luck...and that's just off the top of my head.

OK...I have never been a fan of Drew the person, and I am sure there are people scratching their heads and thinking, "WTF is wrong with this guy?"...but it is nothing personal.

Talent-wise, he has been great, no doubt. However, he is getting old. If I honestly answer the question, then, yeah...I'd trade for someone else right now.

If you would have asked this question right after the SB win, I'm sure my answer would have been different.

Edit...Oh, yeah...one more thing. I am wondering if it is a coinkydink that people around Drew are not playing as well as before, or do they either consciously or sub-consciously do poorly because they resent how greedy he got in the offseason. Just fodder for thought.

I clearly state that although I don't care for his personality (better?)...it is not the reason I would trade. It is because he is getting older and there is some great talent just coming into the game. Indy took a pass on Peyton for Luck...so I'm not that far off base.

Edit...again. Sometimes I think you just read what you want to read and often miss the point because you have your head so far up Drew's butt. Think about it.

I think most players realize the value of Brees to this franchise, so I dont see that as an issue. Peyton and Vick were the highest paid players in the league, and their teams did fine. OTOH: Brady took a pay cut so the Pats could get more talent around him, and they've been scorching ds for a long long time.

I honestly didnt see Brees being held scoreless by anyone this season, so thats a testament to the faith I have in the man.

The big problem here is that we as Saints fans have been spoiled for the last 6 years. The fans that do not have short term memories remember how bad we sucked ass at the QB position is the past.

I'll be the first to admit that Brees had a horrible game but I will never forget what he has done for this team, the entire Who Dat nation, and his relentlessness at getting better every day.

If your thinking about jumping his ass for a couple of bad games, just think of a guy like Billy Joe Tolliver and his era at QB. It could be a lot worse.

Im ready to see what the teams plans are for beyond Drew. He is probably going to retire at the end of his current contract and the only back up we have is Chase Daniel. I feel like he probably would have done as good of a job this season if not better if he were given a chance. Also he wouldn't have cost the team as much money which would have allowed them more room to pick up some free agents they needed. I am thinking theyn will be looking at drafting a QB some time soon in order to keep the franchise alive. I wonder if Nate or Nick Montana will be available?

It was kind of a bad game. But it's just 1 game. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Unusual for him.

I have your answer. While the Texans were marching to 11-1 last Sunday, I, Skymike, was .....

.... watching a recording of Horrible Bosses. I had no idea who won, or what
the score was, until the highlights came on Sunday night. I dont have a single piece of Texans gear, even amongst the "Texans fever" raging through the city now. (They're still pretty sad compared to us.)

Im wearing a Saints "divisional championship" t-shirt as I type this, drawing the usual office ridicule.

If the Texans win the SB, I still wont care about them.

Indy let Manning go as an overhaul.. Nothing to do with Andrew Luck, if you THINK that Indy had a clue as to how Luck would preform in the NFL your delusional. Drafting a 1st round #1 QB that turns into a Champion happens less that you are aware of apparently.

I wouldn't call that a move up either. Presently the Broncos have clenched a Division title, the Colts have not.

Manning is vastly out preforming Luck also. Manning has 12 more TDs, 7 less INTs, 1 more win, and a Qb rating 28 points higher.

Brees is out preforming Both Luck and RGIII.

While you may think I am blind by love, you certainly are blinded by hate. You must have missed my posts where I am not a fan of any player, only the Saints, and I advocate what is best for the team. Presently Drew Brees gives us the best chance to win.

Wait. You mean like the way Carl Nicks played so poorly after Jahri Evans got a big fat contract, at the same position, right next to him? Nicks only busted his ass, 2x Pro Bowl, 1st team All Pro in 2011. Really. Or do you mean the way Joe Morgan is so resentful, now that Colston got his contact extension? Does he seem to be resenting Colston when he catches those deep balls, and keeps getting better at it? Ivory and Sproles, do they look like they resent the extension Pierre Thomas got in 2011, to you? Really?

Please....put down the pipe...That doesn't make any sense. If anything, big contracts make people around the player play harder, because they know they can get one too, if they bust their rump...either with the Saints or somewhere else. If anything Brees is an inspiration to the players, to stay focused and quietly play through their contract, and get an even bigger payday on the next one. You're grasping for straws to hate on Brees, and this time, it just isn't there.
