Re: Keeping Football and Political agenda-opinion separate
I love Dan Patrick and dvr his show every day.
He is beholden to no one and his show is amazing for that. Since he left "The Mothership" (espn), he's forged his own path. He has made no secret of his admiration of Costas prior to Sun night. Patrick called out Costas and then invited him on the show to rebut if he wanted to. btw, he does this with everyone he talks about. Dan asked some very poignant, hard questions of Costas. Kudos to Dan Patrick. If you don't catch his show? I highly recommend it. |

Okay, I've been staying out of the political stuff, but to call all of us stupid? Screw you Bob. Screw you.

I don't know or care if BC is a so-called Liberal Left Wing Nut, whatever that means, or a so-called Conservative Right Wing Nut, whatever that means.
Gosh, I hate politics these days and how people have lost their everloving minds. It is so crazy and dangerous to discuss. You can lose your job or friends for expressing politics. You are looked at and judged by others as to what you think when people don't even know you. I feel as I live in the USSR of yesterday. I am talking about people here, us on this board where it is SUPPOSED to be fun. I got enought real shet in my real life. About Costas calling viewers who are of every ethnic group, from both genders, "stupid" is not cool. Everybody watches football. You watch to see the teams and not the commentary. You cannot say that insult about the viewers. If this were his own show, fine. Look and listen if you want and if you dont' , then don't. Calling viewers , well maybe not stupid , the exact word , but to imply they are not smart enough to comprehend what he was saying is just not too cool. I have a feeling this is going to continue to gorw. He should have simply said nothing. No long , drawn out commentary. Just say this tragic situation happened and NBC expresses sympathy to the fans of KCC, Arrowhead Stadium, the owners of KCC, the coaching staff and the of course, families left these two people left to sort this out. BOOM!! And now back to the game. His commentary could have been short and sweet. Be the hero reporter of the day. Collect his multimillion dollar check from NBC and go home to his safe, multimillion dollar world. |
Re: Keeping Football and Political agenda-opinion separate
50% of the people voted for Obama. 49% voted for Romney. 1% of the 49% have 99% of the money. I have no problem with them wanting "their boy" to be president.
However, it is my opinion that the definition of "moron" is the 48% that voted for Romney "thinking" they are part of that 1%. I have a clue for you guys. Professional wrestling is not real. |

As for Costas, I heard that condescending remark he made about his listening audience ... what a pompous SOB to assume everyone watching the game even sat around during halftime to catch his show ... I didn't ... learned long ago there's never much interesting or pertinent to my enjoyment of a football game going on at halftime, other than if they have a marching band. Didn't even realize he'd made those stupid remarks until it was posted up on the board,. |

Re: Keeping Football and Political agenda-opinion separate
mmmm, not really seeing the villainry of people who make jets and tanks.
Brown & Root here in Houston, I believe was a big military builder during Nam. They still employ a jillion middle class people, and pay a durn good wage... ... but I know what you're saying... If I was in a room with Dick Cheney, would he acknowledge me? I dont know. I could tell him Im also very Bible Thumpy and Im definitely in the pockets of Big Oil. Big Oil is the reason my kid's school kicks ass, and my entire town profits from their presence. Of course, I'm a minority, so according to Some, I cant even get into the room. But I dont believe what Some says. Quote:
