League denies leaking bounty transcripts
 

On Thursday, Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt suggested that the league office fired a “scud” in his direction by leaking to the Associated Press the transcript of the bounty testimony of former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

The NFL denies leaking the transcript, citing an email sent by former Commissioner Paul Tagliabue’s attorney, directing the parties to keep the transcripts under wraps. The league has sent the email to PFT.


“Dear Counsel,” the message states, “Mr. Tagliabue has reviewed the question regarding the release of the transcripts of the appeals hearings he conducted. He considers the transcripts to be confidential and not for public release.

I held the hearings. I accrued the testimony. I generated he transcripts. Everyone left and only I had them.

A SCUD is an inaccurate ballistic missile more known for the number of targets it's missed than any real damage it's ever done.

I think Joe was using the media to take a shot at the league, :lol:.

BS the league leaked out information that would help their case and now everyone knows they were full of it to begin with so they keep trying to backpedal and cover up and blame every and anyone that they can, just come clean

Ive been on the receiving end of many Scuds... Never been hit.

Inaccurate is an understatement.

Scuds have evolved. They are actually fairly accurate now but Vitt's analogy, that is a generation one model. It's a middle finger of the losing side.

I have the feeling that the real drama is only just beginning. Roger lost control, and you don't throw people under the bus like he has - based on pretty much nothing, without ramifications.

You can't possibly make a statement like this and have any credibility at the same time. It's confidential, but someone else leaked it? Did someone steal it from the league office? That's hysterical.

I do top secrect securit meetings and with a judge sometimes on a regular basis. Ive never seen them in the wall street Journal.

..and if they did end up their we would know who did it in about a day or two. How is the NFL dumber than the governmet ? LOL

So if Vitt's testimony is so damning, why did he receive a 6 game suspension and Payton an entire NFL Season??
