Coming to New Orleans - hopefully next season
I'm saving all the money I can and doing overtime just so I can come over to New Orleans from the UK and watch the saints play, I'm hyped just talking about it lol
Just wanted some info How much normally are ticket prices for home games Does anyone know a good hotel, not too far from the superdome and in a good area, I don't really know New Orleans that well yet obviously lol If I let some people know when I'm going to come over, we could hang out before the game and get a couple drinks if anyone was interested? My girlfriends going to get a saints top for the occasion and she doesn't watch our team......yet anyway Any info is a help, thanks |
Re: Coming to New Orleans - hopefully next season
Hey Dizzle.
I have been fortunate enough to see the Saints many times over the years with my Wife so I can tell you that the best place to stay is the French Quarter. I know it's for the tourists but it is still a great place to be. Have stayed in the Historic French Market Inn on Decatur, The Prince Conti, The Place D'Armes. All of these hotels are in excellent locations and it's easy enough to walk to the Superdome from there. The first time I took my Wife to The Superdome she was thrilled and became even more of a fan has an intense dislike for the Falcons and really can't stand Roddy White (I'm so proud..sniff) We love New Orleans and are going back there during the Superbowl. As for tickets, the prices will obviously depend on where you sit but just to let you know, we went through stubhub and had no problem with them. Go to their website and you can take your pick. You can also look at the virtual plan on the Saints official website. Also, we found that the best time to go is the first part of the season, September-November, though we were there when we won the Superbowl and that was just the best time we ever had. It will be worth it. Trust me. |

That's great thanks saintgup
I will look at those hotels when I'm home tonight, really sounds like what I was looking for Aswell. I hope my girlfriend will develop those attributes when we go to New Orleans then, I'd be proud lmao an instant dislike for roddy white made me laugh lmao Thanks for all the info mate, can't wait to go there, might try and make a Monday night game in the superdome also, when I watch on TV it sounds like the dome is rocking so can't wait to see it for myself |
Re: Coming to New Orleans - hopefully next season
Somewhere around '74...'75...I took my girlfriend to NO and we stayed at the Monteleone. We went to Jefferson Downs Saturday night...later to Cafe DuMonde (sp?) for beignets at Jackson Square. Sunday morning brunch at the hotel and then over to the game at noon. It was a great weekend.
My girlfriend from 38 years ago is now my wife of almost 37 years. |

If things work out well, let us know when you'll be trying to come down. I'm currently in Denver and if the timing is right I might just come down for a get together too.

(on a side note..Y'all should've seen her at the Denver game this year. My wife is a 5' tall pacifist that has a hard time killing bugs. That said, I thought she was going to throw down right in the middle of a sea of orange and blue, with a big mouthed donkey fan. It's not a good idea to talk smack about the Saints around her when they're losing) |
Re: Coming to New Orleans - hopefully next season
I date a converted Saints fan. I took her to the Tampa game last weekand and she was dressed in her first Saints shirt. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in the quarter it was reasonably priced.
The walk to the Superdome just adds to the excitement......everyone is filled with game day excitement. We ate at mothers and was good but not great. Their roast beef didn't have gravy. I recommende the Cafe Du Monde and The Fleur de Lis for breakfast. Enjoy!:bng: |

I stay at the Monteleone. A little pricey but the Carousel Bar is a plus. Very well located, one block off Bourbon. That's important to me.

Re: Coming to New Orleans - hopefully next season
As many have already said, ya gotta stay in the French quarter. Its walking distance to the super dome. Tickets can be anywhere from around $70 USD and up, depending on the game and where you want to sit. I live 500+ miles away and I go once a year. Stay near Poydras street if you can and begin walking up to the SD about an 1 1/2 hours before game time.
Listen to the guys here for the resturant picks and pans, lots of great music out there in various clubs. Be prepared to walk a lot, as its the best way to get around in the FQ. |
Re: Coming to New Orleans - hopefully next season
There are a couple hotels I've stayed at that are quite reasonable.
Queen and Crescent off of Poydras and Camp and also The Cotton Exchange and both are around $100. |
