Now I ain't sayin' they weren't bad and I ain't sayin' they shouldn't probably go after that Milner kid from Alabama in the first round, but what I am sayin' is, as bad as they are, there's worse. Only three defenses (#27 CLE - 577, #32 TB - 583, #30 WAS - 599) have had more pass attempts against them than #31 NO - 568, yet 14 teams have a worse CMP% (percentage of passes completed) than the Saints 62.1%. Despite giving up 4424 passing yds this season, TB is worse at 4545yds. Sure, they've given up a league leading 31 passing TD's, but their TD% (percentage of TD's thrown when attempting to pass) of 5.5 is still better than KC/PHI's 6.0 and equal to TEN's 5.5. They've intercepted more passes at (14) than MIA, JAC, OAK, MIN, IND, SD, BAL, DET, BUF, PHI, CIN, CAR, SF, NYJ, and PIT. DAL & KC, with (7) INT's each can only combine for a tie of the total INT's the Saints have this season. Their INT% of 2.5 is well above the Cowgirls 1.4 and the Steelers 1.8. The QBR against them is a dismal 95.6, but guess what? The Cowgirls' is 95.7 and Raiders' is 96.0. It's not much, but I'll argue .1 all-day-long if that's all I got,. So, I'm not sticking up for 'em because they do need to be accountable, I'm just looking for a little sumpin'-sumpin' to hold on to and throw back at the naysayers when & if they do set the record this weekend,. |
