Grades for every New Orleans Saints player based on 2013 value
The following report card that I produced is more of an overall view of where each player measures up today, in 2013, compared to everyone else at his position in the NFL.

Pretty good. I'd argue that he was a little easy on our safeties and Cbs.

I think Triplett is far too generous with his grades. You could make an argument for any individual player for any individual grade on his list but overall, the grades are too high for a team with a losing record and that had the worst defense in the history of the NFL. Some guys just flat out failed.

True Utah Saint. A couple of Fs were definitely earned. Colston dropped way too many passes to grade an A. Same for Graham. Moore should have been our highest graded receiver.

Graham led the league in dropped passes and got an A? And in general on defense... 32nd in yards allowed rushing and 31st in yards allowed passing and not one starter gets below a C-? |
Re: Grades for every New Orleans Saints player based on 2013 value
Reading the comments, a lot of people are saying the same things we are. Tripplet explains that this is how he grades these players as he thinks they compare going into 2013. In other they are projections not grades for 2012.

As a frame of reference, that would mean every team in the NFL has 5 safetys that played better than Harper and Jenkins. |

Sedrick Eillis and Patrick Robinson should not have C's. They should have an F-

what the hell is this article about? am I missing something, like, reality?
Value based on 2013 performance? By this logic, I should be President of the world and #1 porn actor of all time in 2013. |

I guess he's grading their 2013 value based on past performances and how he projects they'll perform next year in this same system under the same coaches. Its a complicated process that involves the difficult maneuver of typing while simultaneously pulling crap out of one's own ass. |

Re: Grades for every New Orleans Saints player based on 2013 value
It is very difficult to grade everyone on the team adequately. I don't have access to the individual rankings(thanks again to those members that post that type of info here). These columnists have much more insider info that I don't get. Triplett has access to enough info to make an intelligent call.
In short His grades were decent based on his grading scale. I'll give him a B-minus. Here's another thought........Drew is not a mobile QB like Rodgers. If our entire line were to tank a C minus or if our receivers couldn't get open would Drew still get an A? I doubt it! It's all a team game and what your team mates do reflects on you. Like it or not. That includes coaching. Remember these grades are based on how these individuals would rate compared to the other players in the league if they were being evaluated by another team to target. They are not based on this seasons play. The comments at the bottom of the column were educational and informative. |

Graham gets an A and damn near led the league in drops...lol

Now while PFF player ratings seem to be the cream of the crop rating system these days, we still have to remember it's still subjective. We do not have the luxury of knowing the exact play call and the exact responsibility of each player on every play. Another player's ineffectiveness could greatly affect another player's rating w/o knowing any of this. Did they play bad, yes of course... we all know that. But the incompetence of the players in front of them definitely played a enormous role in Harper/Jenkins rating. They're hardly as bad as where they are ranked. |
