My worst case final 4 is getting closer
 

What I knew I would want to see the absolute LEAST is the conference finals being:


ATL vs. SF
BAL vs. NE


If Houston goes down, I hope they just cancel the rest of the season because I can not stand the remaining teams.

If/when it comes down to these 4, guess I have to go for Patriots over Falcons.

Sure don't want to see the Niners or Falcons raising that trophy in our house...

I know I may be in the minority, but I want ATL over SF.

If SF never won another game - even preseason - for the next 100 years it would be too soon.

I agree. ATL fans are pretty much the worst but there are guys on the team I like, ESPECIALLY Tony Gonzalez. The guy is pure class and I'd love to see him get a SB win on his resume'. I can't think of anyone on the 'Niners roster I feel that way about.

As for the AFC, I'm rooting for Baltimore, big time. Flacco's Tony Romo lite but I like Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs, Brendon Ayanbadejo and Ray Rice both do a TON of things off the field that I am huge a huge fan of, and seeing Torrey Smith win in the season where he played a game, what, hours after his brother was killed...that's story book kind of stuff.

Hawks are going down swinging at least. I cannot stand that *****y flavor flav look alike roddy white at all, the thought of them winning the NFC (be real, the pats are going to win) makes me sick.

My thoughts exactly, just go over the stats and see the % of kicke the kicker makes on his second attempt, I bet its really high.

The Falcons give up 400 passing yards to a rookie and completely blow a 20 point lead. If that were us, I wouldn't be celebrating. The Falcons and ol' Matt "Noodle Arm" Ryan are going to get destroyed next week. Congrats to them for getting the win, but they showed today that they have some real flaws.

How can the Falcons continue to look so awful and yet keep winning? It is maddening and I hate it, hate it, hate it.

I am all about Colin Kaepernick and SF now. I don't like either team, but keeping Atlanta out of the Super Bowl is the only hope I have left this year. Play dirty, trash talk, whine to the refs, do whatever you got to do but for the love of god do your thing next week.

Ugh, where to start.

49er's have won in N.O Dome before during Montana years, I can stomach that more if that has to be.

AF winning next week, winning SB, oh goodness no.

Texans, I am pulling for the Texans all the way, but with this crazy football year left from 2012, who knows what .

N.E with Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning now with a new team, these two qb's again for a SB match up and rematch up, would have been okay.
Boring perhaps because they have faced each other so much.

It would have been cool for N.O. pr and good Peyton pr, playing at his #___what SB but this time, in his hometown.

That would have been something to cheer for.


What can we cheer for?

Economy wise for N.O. , having AF and Texans in SB , would be good. With so many natives of Houston, Atlanta, and the surrounding cities so close to N.O. , people would drive to N.O. No airfare =more spending money in N.O.

It could very well turn out that way.
SB in N.O.-Houston Texans vs. Atlanta Falcons.

No kidding, Atlanta's defense looked like absolute garbage. How do you give up 21 unanswered points and almost blow it like that?! Like I said earlier, congrats on winning... Now you're not the only team in the division to never win a playoff game, but you'll still end up being in the No Super Bowl Wins club with the Panthers.

Ravens did it against the Pats in their undefeated regular season in 08(?) and it had the same result.

If a coach is going to do that, they should call it BEFORE the ball is snapped!

To be fair, Dan Reeves took the Foulcons all the way to the Super Bowl in 1998 - remember the Dirty Birds? Then they got their balls kicked in by Reeves' old team, the Broncos 34-19.

Here's hoping they don't even make it that far this season ...

I have to cheer for anyone in the AFC now. The NFC Championships leave me nothing to cheer for but a black hole to open up and engulf those two disgusting franchises.

The thing is that he did call it before the snap. It doesn't matter any more, the kicker can still get the snap and take the practice kick.

I don't remember which game it was yesterday but a kicker came out and practiced a field goal during a time out (with a trainer holding the ball) and the refs didn't say a damn thing.

Apparently that's okay now which is just absurd.

Well I did not watch the ATL game much (son had it on wanting Seahawks to win), but I could have sworn I heard the announcers say something about Falcons players say ing "WOW" about their performance in the 1st half as they went to the locker room.

Apparently it went to their heads because they checked out for 29.5 of 30 minutes in the 2nd half...

Does anyone else remember what used to happen to an offense 30 years ago when they tried to run the "option" in the NFL? The fact that some QB from the WAC can run all over every team in the NFL demonstrates how far the talent level has fallen. All this bull about how "the option QB" has revolutionized the game makes me sick.
