Re: NFC South & SEC
NFC South? anyone not won a superbowl in the group?
College i actually love watching the so called experts eat their words as so called weaker conferences beat their powerhouses. |
Re: NFC South & SEC
I thought this thread was gonna be about what if Alabama or Georgia played the NFC South teams....Alabama would almost certainly beat Tampa and Carolina, maybe beat the Falcons, but the Saints would definitely be way too much for them to handle, too complex. That's the only game of the four that wouldn't be close....

Re: NFC South & SEC
I'm a Saints and LSU fan, but I don't really give a crap about any other teams, to be quite honest. I understand the whole "exposure" thing in college, but I know deep down that me pulling for them won't make them play any better. So the only team I pull for is the team I actually care about. At least I can pretend my rooting makes a difference then.

And what will the playoff system solve, I wonder? If the SEC fields 3 of the top 4 teams as it did this year, you will be watching a playoff consisting of 75% SEC. The rest of the nation will be whining and moaning again. Then what? Do we expand it to 8? Then maybe 16? Where does it end? The obvious answer is it doesn't. Either constant complaining, or constant playoff expansion. Just because people might think something is unfair doesn't always mean they're right. Sometimes things are just better left alone. Absolution does not and cannot exist in sports. You can never make everyone happy. There are 68 teams in the current NCAA basketball tournament format. And I can give you a 100% guarantee that this year, just like ever other year, there will be another 8-12 teams complaining that their "bubble" was stronger than someone else's bubble, and they got screwed. I have to blast a bit on your Saban comment, lastly. I'm not a Les Miles fan, as I believe despite his relative success, he has done far less than most would with the kind of talent he's had. But that national title came 3 years after Saban left "the house". That leaves very few of his players left, and it also means that they weren't under his coaching for long, and for those who redshirted, they never played for him. If you give Saban credit for that, then you might aswell give Mike Shula credit for "building the house" that Saban inherited, because he also won his first title with them in his 3rd year. |
Re: NFC South & SEC
I root for SEC over any other conference. It's a matter of conference Pride.
As far as the NFC South if Saints aren't in it, it's just football. |

Re: NFC South & SEC
I myself root for the SEC in all out of conference games, which usually includes bowl games. Looks like my Rebels are going to be competitive next year so that increases my interest. Asfar as the NFC south goes Saints only, the other 3 can go 0-16 forever and it wouldn't bother me.
