"It doesn't serve any purpose. There's got to be a wall between what happened in the past and what goes on in the regular season and the Super Bowl. It's just not becoming and it doesn't make any sense. I would ask them to treat every citizen that comes in from whatever team, doesn't matter whether it's the commissioner, to treat them with dignity and respect. Roger Goodell, for whatever people think of him from the Saints' events, has been a great friend to New Orleans, and it's a fact that he's one of the people instrumental to making sure the Saints stayed here. He was also the first person responsible for us getting the Super Bowl and wants to get more here. It doesn't help to cut off our nose to spite our face. I'm just asking, mind your P's and Q's and be respectful to him and every other fan. ... This is a clarion call from me to everybody. For this week, it is all about the city shining and we don't want to mess that up by being disrespectful to him and any other teams. We want to be on our best behavior to keep doing this."

You've given these guys billions of dollars in tax breaks and you don't hold them accountable - all that for the low price of tickets to games and sitting in private boxes...

I thought that was a bidding process that".. Actually Goodell had a hand in trying to get it moved out side of the US.

I also suppose the NINE Super Bowls new Orleans has hosted before 2013 are his doing also? This happens to be the first Super Bowl in New Orleans since BOTH of you took office... wait for it..... Your going to take credit for it also?

You took the words right out of my mouth. Landrieu can suck it. She is a complete waste of space in Congress. I would say she's probably boning Goodell, but I'm thinking she prefers fish tacos over tube steak anyway. I hope she gets so embarrassed by "citizens" behaviors towards him that she never runs for office again. It sure as hell wouldn't hurt my feelings.

I'm glad this piece of crap politician thinks she is everyone's mother now. Good to know she has her priorities in the toilet.

I won't be in New Orleans, but if I were, I would say whatever the hell I feel like to Roger. That is still my right... For now.

I agree with Oak about Goodell not being the reason for SB in N.O. It is a bidding process. Also with N.O , having the SB, way back in the
1970's, 1980s' would get the SB like every 3 or 4-5 years. Fewer of the other NFL teams had a city with a great , big, nice stadium, good weather in Jan. (SB was in Jan. I think then), and the you had fewer teams. Now, since the early 1990's at least, other team city's have great, closed in stadiums, good packages to present, the works. Snowy, cold Indianapolis recently hosted the SB and Indy made it work. It was a good SB.
