The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Saints QB Aaron Brooks (right quad - out) will not play tonight against the Bears. DT/DE Willie Whitehead (right knee), MLB Cie Grant (left knee), and RB/KR Aaron Stecker (neck) may also sit out. Rookie FB Mike Karney (groin), who has missed most of the first two games because of a strained groin, will see action. On defense, HC Jim Haslett said the Saints will test their 3-4 package that features 6-3, 283-pound rookie DE Will Smith at outside linebacker.

I wouldn\'t get too excited about the 3-4 tonight. Its new and probably has quite a few issues to resolve. it may look pretty ugly at first.

Man I wish we had Parcells, or Belichick, or Edwards, or Fox, or Reid, or Dungy, or Billick, or Vermeille, or Holmgren, or Shermann.

Oh well, we are what we are.... the Saints.

i really liked the 3-4 scheme, although smith needs a little bit more time in the film room to learn how to contain on certain plays... he bit quite often last night.

It appeared to work for a while until the Bear\'s adjusted and ran at us for 15 yards on a couple of plays. Anyone know why Leslie started ahead of Sully last night? Were they testing Leslie?
