Remove the fans right to vote, because its a popularity contest at the minute and players are making pro bowl even if they have bad years due to what they did in the past

This game can only be bad for players, as it can and has led to injuries.

Name the team, have the league pay for the vacation in Hawaii. Maybe make them have a boogie boarding competition in between shots.

I like the pro bowl ... but it seems now there don't give even 50% out there on the field .... I remember when Sean Taylor knocked the hell out of That punter back n 03 r 04.... back then it seemed to be better than it is now....

Convert to an espy's type award show maybe with skills contests and some badass highlights from each player selected.

Allow anyone the player wants to accept the nomination for them, father, mother, wife, "significant other", mentor, friend, special needs kid etc...

Each player selected chooses the charity/cause of their choice to donate proceeds toward.

Of course, the occasional heart warming human interest story accompanied by that cheezy piano music could be thrown in there for the chicks in the audience.

I remember that, guess it taught that punter not to run a fake punt again lol he was a great safety, taken way too early when he was defending his family from an armed intruder

If they gonna play it they need to put some kinda incentives in it that will make it worth the players put themselves at risk for next season

I've been bouncing back and forth between channels; I hope we have some defensive players make it next year.

Wouldn't that be something if we draft next years defensive rookie of the year :bng:

It's an exhibition game. Along those lines, I think I'd rather just see them schedule more games in Europe or abroad. I saw this article on YahooSports this morning: Players defend Pro Bowl after 62-35 NFC win - Yahoo! Sports and it just kind of emphasized to me why I don't think the game should be played.

It's not competitive. Last years barrel roll by Jared Allen and this years snapping of the ball to Manning one last time by Jeff Saturday (Jeff Saturday snaps to Peyton Manning one last time | Daily World | dailyworld.com) just kind of give the ProBowl a 'professional wrestling' type of feel, IMO.

I think it's great they're having fun and doing the symbolic 'last snap' thing between two players who had great careers together, but do it on your own time & on your own dime, eh? It does nothing but support the argument that the players don't compete and for discontinuing the ProBowl. If they want to play 'sandlot' ball, have the players throw their own party, don't expect the league or the fans to fund it.

... my thoughts anyway.

I'd rather the two worst teams played for the number 1 pick.
It would stop anyone not performing in the last couple of games to get the next big thing.

i need the option were we keep and winning means something for the conference like in baseball. nah that would not work either. tag them pro bowl players. prance them around on a stage and call it done with

I think they should have a country wide Madden tournament to establish the best two Madden players and invite them to Hawaii to play the game. Have EA program all the players into the system and invite all the pro-bowl players to watch and cheer and interview them during the game. Watching that would be a lot more fun than the actual game.

That's a pretty good idea, actually. I'd rather watch them goof around, grabass & interview in earnest then under the pretense of them playing an 'all-star' game.

Have you ever watched two guys sit around and play Madden? I watched it for 10 seconds. Thats 10 seconds of my life I'll never get back. I can not think of anything more boring than watching someone else play a video game

You must not have seen last night's game. Watching someone play solitaire would have been more entertaining. The only reason I watched is because I was afraid one of our guys might get injured. I was soooo glad to see Drew put on a baseball cap.

No, but I'd stick around for an interview or two before I bolt, which is longer than I stick around watching the current ProBowl.

Trust me, watching 4 hours of the worst of pro-bowl history would be better than watching 5 minutes of two dudes playing a videogame.

In my fantasy, we would be doing more watching interviews with players and less "watching two dudes playing a video game".

It comes down to "He was hurt in a meaningless game!" or "They didn't even try!" Damned if you do and damned if you don't. As far as the Saturday to Manning snap I don't see any difference to that and allowing a "suspended" coach to watch his QB get an "all time" record that will be broken next year.

The Pro Bowl is the exact venue for the "last snap" scenario. They were doing it on their own time. They are professional football players aren't they?

Anyone remember this? Screw the pro bowl. Send them to Hawaii and have surf competitions, swimming races, canoe/raft racing, etc.

It's not 'their time' if the fans are paying for the tickets, IMO. You buy a ticket to an All-Star Game, you should get all-star play. They wouldn't allow that kind of stuff during the regular season or playoffs, but you have to endure it for the price of a premium ticket in the ProBowl. I don't agree with it, it makes the game look staged & I would rather just see them stop playing the game.

If you have a situation like Saturday/Manning, Saturday could have retired, signed a one-day contract with Denver & snapped the ball to Manning on one play before retiring if it's that big a deal.
