Last time we took a CB switching to Safety it didn't work out too well. Draft either Ansah, Jordan, Short, Mingo or trade back. If we go secondary Xavier Rhodes, but please not Amerson.

They are our biggest need and there are tons in this years draft, we need to get our player when he's there

You just don't pick a friggin safety at 15 unless he's Eric Berry, Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu.

I'm all in on a DT, DE, OLB, OT, and maybe even a CB before we pick a safety.

It doesn't really matter though because we haven't even signed free-agents which negates drafting for need anyway.

What if we re-signed Abreayo Franklin? Then you can take DT off the needs list.

The only NT I would take at 15 is Star and that aint happening. I dont like anyone else at 15 so lets address it though Free Agency.

According to some there are 3 DT's worth taking at 15...

9 Star Lotulelei DT 1 Utah Sr 6-3 320
10 Sheldon Richardson DT 2 Missouri rJr 6-3 295
16 Jesse Williams DT 3 Alabama Sr 6-3 320

I like Star and Jesse more than Richardson and would be OK with either at 15.

Trading down a 1/2 dozen spots works for me too.

In a 3-4 I always thought Richerdson was a DE at 295 lbs. Jesse Williams I would have no problems with.

Doucher Report has us picking some lightweight DT from Georgia. Dumbass was too busy makin' **** up to read about us shifting to a 3-4.

They both have the size. I din't see Jenkins play, but Hankins had a good year with tOSU. For a while there he just about the only one out on the field until the rest of the defense finally stepped it up.

A guy that I like is Sheriff Floyd DT Florida if we trade back into the 20's. If Ansah is there I'd take him over anyone, unless Star LotuleleI, Demontre Moore or Bjoern Werner slips whitch I dont see happening.

The 1st rounder has to be either a defensive front 7 impact player or a LT... or trade down to get a 2nd rounder.

So we just gonna sit here and ignore the fact that the Saints secondary can't catch a cold laying butt naked on ice in Alaska?

Amerson struggle THIS year at corner...last year at corner lead the nation with 13 picks and 4 TDs.. He gives you the added benefit of being even more aggressive in the secondary. Edge rushers in the 3-4 come a dime a dozen. Give me a defensive guy that always ends up with the ball in his hands...

Agree with both points here.
I'm hoping we can either get Bushrod re-signed or another tackle in for a reasonable salary.
Getting Franklin back makes plenty of sense as he can help plug a gap on what would be a low contract and allowing a LB to be picked up in the draft.


I still like the thought of trading down a bit to pick up a additional pick if we can get the right player.

My question is why not the best safety in the draft in Kenny Vaccaro. Why Amerson, I wouldn't be surprised if he's there in the 3rd.

I wouldn't mind getting a safety early but the best way of doing that would be to trade down 6 or so picks and pick up a second if possible.

Nice call on Quinton Patton going in the 2nd round. I could even see him possibly going higher. From what I've read, he really increased his draft stock during Senior Bowl week. The guy was a machine at Louisiana Tech, catching pretty much everything thrown at him. That Texas A&M game was off the charts.

Not really interested in building backwards... unless it's a can't miss type prospect. Amerson isn't one of them.
