With so many square pegs in round holes on this defense, its impossible to blame a position coach for anything.

Players may not have been the only members of the defense that weren't used correctly.

I seriously doubt Seattle is stupid enough to hire a guy for their defense that actually sucks.

I concur. He's getting promoted from assistant DL coach(on the worst defense in the league) to DL coach on a stout defense. It says quite a bit on Jones and what Carroll thinks of his ability to teach. Just because we had a bad defense, doesn't mean all the coaches were bad. For whatever reason, it just didn't work out.

Yep x2, the guy was far enough down the coaching tree that he really couldn't be held that much accountable for what went on with the Saints defense. Good for him on getting a promotion.

Still the D-line's performances and its development has sucked for many years now. so forgive me if I'm not getting teary eyed because the assistant D-line coach got "poached" by another team.
