Chris Canty at NT??
We all know Chris Canty and Ahmad Bradshaw were recently released by the Giants this Wed afternoon and are now FA.
What would u guys think of adding Chris Canty as a rotational player on the line at DE and NT for the right price? i think its a very intriguing topic. his size(6'7, 318lbs) is great for the 3-4, just not sure how he would transition. i think a rotation of Canty, Hicks & Bunkley would be great so that we could focus more on other positions in the draft such as OLB/DE, CB/S & OL. let me hear some feedback. canty would be a great mentor for Hicks. Keep Bunkley out of his head

Key words, right price. Right price? Hell yeah! What, we have about $3.95 of cap space now, right?

Re: Chris Canty at NT??
This was already brought up in the "released free agents" thread, so it might be good to try and keep all these discussions in a single thread.
http://blackandgold.com/saints/55302...-released.html But as far as your comment goes, yes I think Canty could be a great pick up, but it depends so much on how much he'll be asking for in wages, is he healthy enough to be a contributor, can he stay healthy for an entire season, will he fit the scheme the Saints are going to run, and finally, if the new DC will want Canty. |
Re: Chris Canty at NT??
Nothing against Canty but I would like to get a young bull in the draft at NT or DE. I would be a little scared of the transition from 4-3 t0 3-4 in his case. Bunkley is going to rule in the 3-4.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Canty play as a DE in a 3-4 when he was with the Cowgirls?! |
