Length of contract for coaches & staff DOES NOT effect the cap when it comes to players...therefore its irrelavent.

And you really need to stop crying about middle of the road defense. We had the worst defense in NFL HISTORY and won a SB with one that was 24th ranked. Pretty sure middle of the road will do just fine.

I'd take a middle of the road defense right now, don't believe the Saints have had one since 2000

once i know the length of the contract i am checking to see if there is a coach say in SF that has a contract expiring that same year. that would let us know if he is a band aid for now.

Fair enough. I'm neither a fan of band aids or destabilizing a defense every few years.

neither am I but i find it hard to believe we waited so long to hire him if he was really our #1 pick as DC. I think the SP had a SF coach in mind. But they are under contract.

if this 34 rebirth is going to happen at least it would be another 34 coach coming in.

Exactly my point. We didn't get who we really wanted for some reason and I'm not entirely amorous with that fact.
