Re: Saints, Will Smith reportedly working on restructuring his contract
I can live with that.
Papz convinced me that while he may be a weee bit undersized, he's still big enough and from what I'm reading about this 1-gap 3-4, Smith may be a good fit on the weakside. I just hope we don't overpay for him. 3 to 4 mill/yr sounds about right. |

I'd love to see this happen. A lot of people are throwing Smith under the bus, but I'd love to see him stay with the team.

Dude has played hard since he has been here.
He's not the best in the league but he's ours. If the price is right? Helz Yeah! |
Re: Saints, Will Smith reportedly working on restructuring his contract
The new salary would have to be in the ballpark of $3-4M, like Danno suggested, in order for this to be a good move considering the future of the Saints' defense, because it won't be a 1-year contract with those figures.
Still, I'd love to see a youth movement, but the "dead money" already invested in Smith makes the restructure a more appealing option than it would've perhaps been otherwise. |
Never threw Smith under the bus... He couldn't get out of the way on his own.
