Gavin Escobar
Gavin Escobar is a tight end from San Diego state. He hasn't seen a ton of playing time in college, because the knock against him is that he tends to avoid contact.
However, let's look at his measurables: Height 6'6" Weight 254 lbs Arm Length 33 5/8" Nfl.com lists him as a great and effortless catcher. If he could be trained up a bit, he would be an awesome complement to Jimmy Graham in double tight end sets. Like Graham, he is a former basketball player. He'll also need to be trained how to block. I saw one of the mock drafts had him going in the fourth or fifth round. Perhaps we could pick him up in the draft? Perhaps Graham/Escobar could be the new Gronkowski/Hernandez. Thoughts? Re: Gavin Escobar
This is still a young man that may be a late bloomer and can bulk up. I think these are the kind of young men this team needs with skills. And with the other thread about Graham wanting all that money bring in some competition show he he may not be that hard to replace and maybe he will be a liitle humble and get off his high horse.
