Saints working on 2 year deal with Asomugha?

I don't know who this page belongs to so I don't know if its reliable. Just thought I would post what I found.

The New Orleans Saints are reportedly working on a 2 year deal with CB free agent Nnamdi Asomugha

"We're always looking for good players to improve our team and we think Nnamdi would be a great fit for our defense and our team," Saints GM Mickey Loomis said

What do y'all think about DAT???

#WHODAT Namdi has gas left he's only 32 and he's more physical in bump and run coverage than in zone
see in zone usually big collision cause your playing off the man and basically playing like a mid range safety which with his length speed and instincts of success in man "bump and run" coverage. He uses his long arms to check the wr at line of scrimmage and nock him off his timed route! His natural God given ability is wasted in zone!

Mickey said today that the ball was in his court. I believe we already made him an offer (Sunday), and Nnamdi is considering his options.

A 1-year or a 2-year contract would be ideal, so that the Saints wouldn't need to be investing too much time and money on an unproven commodity - which he is at the moment - and hopefully it'll be for about $3.5M/yr.

I'd be a little careful using facebook as a news source.

I would imagine wherever he signs will be a 2 year deal. He's hardly unproven, however. It's more of a case of him needing to re-establish himself.

He's better than Greer and Robinson.

Unproven?
Really?

Wasn't he once considered ONE of the best corners in the game?

I'll believe it when I see it on BSPN or NFLN

I didn't really mean the "unproven commodity" statement to be taken so much out of context - unproven in the sense that he had two bad years with the Eagles and no one really knows if that in fact was due to the zone scheme he was forced to play in over there or if it was due to him no longer being the CB he once was with the Raiders because of other factors like age and motivation.

So, that's the context inside of which he is in my opinion an unproven commodity at the moment and will be until we see him play with a new team.

I think that happened when he played for Ryan and that's one of the main reasons he would want to come to New Orleans.

I understand what you are saying, I think this may be what he needs to revamp his career. Back with Ryan in his comfort zone. It sure seemed like he struggled with the zone a bit the last two years, I would agree with that!

I'm all for it, as long as it comes at the right price!:bng:

I don't blame the man for looking at his options. He didn't do that last time and look where it got him. Take your time then sign with us.
