Dwight Freeney
NFL total access reports that the Saints may surprisingly make a push for Dwight Freeney, if they can not sign Nnamdi Asomugha.

Re: Dwight Freeney
I saw that, interesting.

Re: Dwight Freeney
Rather sign Nnamdi though.

Re: Dwight Freeney
Huh? WTF?
Freeny on carpet for 9 games minimum? Thats intriguing. I didn't see much of him last year. Does he have anything left in the tank? |
Re: Dwight Freeney
Too much altitude to join his buddy in Denver?
|
Re: Dwight Freeney
DE has the most options left in free agency. I wondered who we would be looking to sign late?"

Re: Dwight Freeney

His site looked like a joke at first but have to hand it to him, he's a good salesman. That video is great quality and has the three B's: Brief, Brillant, and Be gone.
3 Seconds - Dwight Freeney |
Re: Dwight Freeney
Ha ha! I bet Sean is just messing with the press telling them them that we are interested in every FA in the NFL. I seriously don't understand why we would be interested in Freeney.

Re: Dwight Freeney
I'm not sure if I like this as well. But lets face it, Frenney can probably help our pass rush. Someone said this already, but I just don't know if he can stay healthy enough to help for a full season. If we are going to make a playoff push, he would need to stay healthy.

Re: Dwight Freeney
He would be a bad ass on third down tho.even in a good rotation I think he'll be a beast, but not on every down.....now theyll maybe talk about the Saints on nfl network.

Rumors Fly: Freeney could be New Orleans Saints target
Dwight Freeney could be New Orleans Saints target
The New Orleans Saints continue to wait on Nnamdi Asomugha's decision. If the cornerback chooses the San Francisco 49ers, a play for free-agent defensive end Dwight Freeney could be next for the Saints. Dwight Freeney could be New Orleans Saints target - NFL.com |

Neauxxxxxxx!!!

Re: Dwight Freeney
some thing tells me he aint signing before the draft any how.
|
Re: Dwight Freeney
Let him go to a team playing Denver this year. It'd be fun to watch him sack Manning.
|
Re: Dwight Freeney
MUCH better 4-3 rush specialist than a 3-4 OLB.
|
Re: Dwight Freeney
Nnamdi is coming.

Re: Dwight Freeney

**** no. Dude is injury ridden.

Re: Dwight Freeney
I get the feeling stories like this don't really come from any legitimate source. Every recognizable name out there, no matter their age or production, seems to come up as a target. We know the Asomugha story is real, but all these other articles are ridiculous.
I brought up that if we were to sign an older guy as an affordable stop gap on the defensive line, it should be Abraham. Because he stills gets to the QB. Freeney has not been productive for a couple of years now. Because Abraham IS still a little productive, he wouldn't come cheap enough. I don't want anything to do with Freeney, regardless. I wanted us to draft Dwight many years ago, when people were saying the Colts reached for him, but uh... It's a little late now. |
Re: Dwight Freeney
He has publicly stated he does not want to play in a 3-4 Defense. He wants a 4-3
|
Re: Dwight Freeney
And people in hell want ice water too. For the right $$$$ or to stay in the game he'd consider a 1 -10!!
|
Re: Dwight Freeney
I have 10 times more interest in Nnamdi and I have little interest in him.
|
Re: Dwight Freeney
Doesn't want to go to camp.

Re: Dwight Freeney
Well this thread is dead......
Dwight Freeney looking for more than Osi Umenyiora’s deal with Falcons | ProFootballTalk Dwight Freeney has an idea about what the value of his next contract should look like and he’s more than willing to bide his time in hopes of getting it. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Freeney is looking for more than the contract Osi Umenyiora signed with the Atlanta Falcons earlier this week. Umenyiora’s deal is worth $8.5 million over the next two seasons. Freeney is reportedly seeking a contract in the neighborhood of $6 million a season. Per Rapoport, Freeney is willing to wait out the market in hopes of getting the type of deal he is looking for. In addition to discussions with the Denver Broncos, Freeney is also interested in the Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins. The market for pass rushers this season has been grossly less than many expected. Freeney could find the deal he is searching for by waiting in hopes of an injury sparking a team to team to become desperate or more teams showing interest to drive up the price. Freeney could also see any market he has completely evaporate as teams fill their rosters and run out of room under the salary cap. Freeney may have to wait until after the draft or even into training camp to find the deal he wants, if it’s coming at all. He may need to be prepared to wait quite a while still in hopes of getting it. |
