Re: Draft war room: New Orleans Saints

Like the logic. Boy, looking at that depth chart really helps narrow our needs down...

Hmmmm, packaging our 1st and 3rd to move up to get Johnson? Interesting idea. Potentially solves the LT issue for years to come, but no D help worries me

Thats why I like that he pointed out that the Saints have had much success picking Offensive Lineman in the later rounds. I really think if we trade back to gather more picks, its to get more talent and depth on the defensive side of the ball in the early half of the picks we have and OL/Skill players with the later half.

The loss of Aaron Kromer concerns me when discussing this topic. I'm not saying he was the reason we have had a good amount of success with late round O lineman, but I'm curious to see if his departure causes a negative impact.

With all the talk of trading down, I'm still on the BPA bandwagon. Oak is right, we addressed a few big defensive needs in FA with some nice pickups with great $$ deals, so I would really like us to take the BPA on our board and entertain trade-down offers should the opportunity arise.

And if some RB hungry team ahead of us (I'm looking at you NYJ and maybe the Bolts, outside chance of Cards) wants to package their 1st for our 1st and Ivory on draft day in the heat of the moment (I know I'm dreaming but can't a man dream?) I would probably cackle with anticipation as I drum my fingertips together

Our D issues were address in FA and coaching. It's about as good as it will get or we need.

I still see a glaring need at OLB, maybe even ILB

ILB - Hawthorn, Lofton, Herring, Humber, Chamberlain, Johnson, Vilma,

We have three OLBs and three ILBs who could be starters.

Romeus (knock on wood when you say his name) and Braylon B are DEs with zero PT in the NFL.

It's Vilma's last season. Lofton's the future. Hawthorne (knee and hamstring) could be good.

Chamberlain (torn ACL), Herring & Humber are mainly ST players. Chamb was a Spags guy who's likely odd man out.

You're telling me you wouldn't want Alec Ogletree over at least 4 of those names??

Looks pretty much like I've been reading here. Isn't the guy with the gray suit the guy who said Newton sucked?
