Yea but 28th in FG and 28th in Scoring are sleeper numbers. ;-) |
Re: Sizing Up the Saints' 2013 Opponents
Speaking of sleepers, I have this feeling in my gut, that the 49ers game this year is going to be kind of like the famous "rematch" of the Vikings-Saints NFC Championship game in the opening week of fall 2010. Hyped to the skies, everyone makes a big ballyhoo about it, probably be a marquee Sunday night or Monday night game, over-the-top hype surrounding it, and then it's gonna turn out to actually be kind of a boring, dull, snoozy, uneventful game, like that Vikings game was, which the Saints win without any real drama or excitement.

I changed it to 2-2 but didn't change the total. :dunce: Anyway, 11-5 and the #3 seed still works for me too. |
Re: Sizing Up the Saints' 2013 Opponents
9-7 I think we are still a year away from making it back to the post season. Losing Kromer alone will hurt our offensive production a lot more than most think. Thats before taking Bushrod out of the equation. I really think our season lives or dies by the production of the O-line, even more so than the defense maybe. We have been swapping out lineman every year for the last few years at a position that consistency is key. I fear without Kromer we are really going to start seeing the results of that.

Re: Sizing Up the Saints' 2013 Opponents
there is not a team on the list the saints offense can not beat if the LT position is addressed.
question is can the defense make enough stops to give us the win |

And I could definitely see it being the first SNF game of the season. Guess we'll find out in about a week. |
Re: Sizing Up the Saints' 2013 Opponents
I'm honestly concerned that we might not get any Sunday Night games next year unless they still schedule us as the world series timeslot alternative which they have for the last three years. There are just so many other games based on last year that i feel NFL is more excited about. And 49ers likely have seahawks, packers, and falcons locked in as their three NBC games(three is max until flex scheduling happens). And dare i say falcons could be getting the max as well with Seattle for sure, SF, and NE. All the playoff teams are gonna get at least one SNF game. And you know the giants and cowboys who didnt get in are going to get dibs before us. Giants we know will have Denver, likely Dallas, and its a debate on if they will continue eagles/giants as a annual primetime event. Though I feel eagles/cowboys will continue but that could be moved to Monday Night this year, cowboys will also I believe play redskins.
Here's seventeen matchups including whatever season opener ravens get(its between steelers and broncos because NBC isnt gonna put bears before texans esp with the Reed signing) Falcons/49ers(week 2, 3, or 5) Packers/49ers(week 2, 3, or 5) 49ers/Seahawks(December) Bears/Packers-a bi-annual occurence(week 5, 11, 13, or 16 if in Lambeau week 3, 14, 15, or 16 if in Soldier) Redskins/Packers(week 1, 4, or 6) Cowboys/Redskins(week 1, 11, or 16) Patriots/Falcons(week 2, 5, or 9) Broncos/Pats-every other year NBC gets this game(week 5, 9 or 10) Broncos/Giants(week 1, 2 or 3) Ravens/Broncos(opener or week 5 or 8) Steelers/Ravens(will be reverse if opener or week 11, 12, or 13-Steelers usually travel to Fed Ex in Late November or December) Colts/Bengals-playoff teams automatic bid(week 15 or 16) Texans/Ravens-only SNF possibility for texans I see(week 2, 6, or 8) Bears/Vikings-just picked an opponent for vikings And those are the ones that include all the playoff teams that are in demand. Here's the main NFC East division game among the non playoff teams Giants/Cowboys And after they won in Pit last year they could get back to back primetime game Bengals/Steelers I think if we do get a SNF game it might be the Thursday Night NBC Thanksgiving game and that could be 49ers. I see only three teams as primetime candidates for us if we get anything, 49ers, pats, and cowboys. |
Re: Sizing Up the Saints' 2013 Opponents
SNF week 1 should be 49ers vs. Saints. The Niners being the team that fell short in the Super Bowl, and the return of Sean Payton to the sidelines. That's hype-worthy.
