Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Torrance Small helps expand boys basketball in Kenner

Before starting the first official practice of the 2013 season for his fifth grade boys AAU basketball team, the Kenner Guardian Angels, head coach and former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Torrance Small had to stop and show his appreciation to the community of people who helped make it possible. To do so, he held a small ceremony in the Williams Boulevard Baptist Church gym last Thursday before the boys took the court.

I grew up at Williams Blvd Baptist Church and spent countless hrs in that very gym. My Mama has single handed done the landscaping there for 30 yrs. If you can, check it out. She shows her faith by making the Church's exterior stunningly beautiful.

I grew up playing for the Highway Park teams in Kenner. The Kenner Recreational Dept has always done a great job and I'm proud that Small is using his station in the community to carry the tradition forward.

That's great for him and the community. You've got to give back in this world.:saintsfan:
