Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
San Francisco 49ers looking to trade up in NFL draft? - NFL.com
Would you make this trade (if the player SF wanted was available @ 15)? Saints #15 (1050 points) for 49ers #31 (625 points) + 49ers later (they have two 2nds) 2nd rounder #61 (300 points) + 49ers later (they have two 3rds) 3rd rounder #93 (130 points) That would only be 5 points in our favor on the points chart - sounds like a fair trade to me... |
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
definitely!
The only way that happens though, if Vacarro is still on the board |
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
Sellers market this year.
I'd expect it to be 1st/2nd/3rd. |

I've been thinking we might go for Vacarro, then I heard Mike Detiller say that he doesn't catch the ball well. Sorry, we already have two safeties with hands of stone. Why draft another? I want another with hands of velcro like Sharper! |
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
Trade back with 49ers and in the second get Cyprian
ANALYSIS Strengths Looks and plays like a strong in-the-box safety with solid thickness throughout his build. Holds his ground against blocks from bigger opponents, and also runs through traffic to wrap up ballcarriers inside (sometimes as a fast edge blitzer). Possesses enough speed and athleticism to cover ground as a zone defender in the back half and line up against slot receivers inside. Closes on stretch runs and quick throws to outside receivers even when playing well back from the line. Beats receiver blocks with quickness or strength. His secure tackling in those situations is also notable, as he brings some attitude into his attempts unlike other defensive backs in this class. Used as a blitzer on run and pass plays, can overpower running back blocks. Weaknesses Doesnt have elite range or the height/length combination to play as a single-deep safety. Quick enough to make a hit after the catch when deep, but is often a step slow to recognize the pass coming into his area. Aggressive in coverage, he can be sucked up by play action and will jump underneath routes, allowing plays over the top. Lacks elite change of direction and quickness in man coverage, and does not recover like a corner if beaten by a quick move off the line or in space. NFL Comparison Jordan Babineaux Bottom Line One of the hardest-hitting safeties in the 2013 draft class, Cyprien offers enough range to be reliable in box coverage while displaying an aggressive mentality againt ball carriers and receivers. He plays smart, and that might be the most improtant trait when looking at safeties. However, despite it being unique, Cyprien doesn't have a very well known name ... yet. |

I would love to get St. Louis, or Minnesota involved in this discussion though. Somebody who could give them some competition with multiple picks in the 1st round.. |
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
Moving down and getting a 2nd rd Pick would be a best case for us in this deep defensive draft. Minny 21 25 would be nice too.

Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
I'd hop on the deal. They are getting ready to implode. I just have a feeling. It's time for personalities to start getting in the way. Harbaugh is such an ass he's got to be rubbing people the wrong way.
Who's got it better than us? The Saints! :bng: |

That trade would be absolutely epic, but I don't think it has much chance of materializing to be honest.

Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
I don't think anyone would blink before accepting that offer. And frankly I can see San Fran being interested in doing it. We need affordable bodies and they need to maximize every position before their window of opportunity closes. And with the way they are spending like drunken sailors and hoarding egos I can see them in disarray in short order.
|
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
The article does point out that they have 13 picks.
No way they can sign that many bodies, so I expect they will be trading with someone on draft day... |
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
I can see them trading some picks back for next year.

Definitely trade Jar Jar Binks for Queen Amidala.
I know it's a lateral move but at least you'll have something to look at on the sidelines. |
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
Something has got to give. We need defensive help & Roger-ass has screwed us with picks
|
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
they will give the picks to carolina or the jets before the give them to us
|
Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
Your probably right because they have to know we are gonna tear dat azz up this year. we shouldve had them last year. those picks are goind to be on Drews mind. You know he is going to be up for that game.

Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
Or draft ogletree and move him to S

Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
If they do anything with SF they need to demand at least what Smashmouth has suggested. I am hating them more now than when they were in our division. I like nothing about them. Best if we could make a move with someone else in their division that would hamper them in someway.

Re: Evil Empire wanting to move up to mid 1st round?
Just remember No one has it better than them!!!

Saints 1(15) = 1050 49ers 1(31) = 600, 2(34) = 560, 2(61) = 292, 3(74) = 220, 3(93) = 128, 4(128) = 44, 4(131) = 41, 5(157) = 28.6, 6(173) = 22.2, 6(180) = 19.4, 7(237) <2, 7(246) <2, 7(252) <2 So, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, that we could trade our 1(15) for their 1(31), 2(29) #61, 3(31) #93,5(24) #157, and 7(46) #252. That's 1050 for 1050, but like others have said, the 49ers are more likely to trade with someone else. Regarding the Ivory to the Jets deal, like Hagan said, I'd be fine with swapping 4th rounders with the Jets and they throw in the 5th rounder. |
