Trade Up for Dion Jordan ? If I Were GM
 

Word through many reports have quite a few top 10 Draft Holders seeking to trade out of that Position.

Facts are facts , We are a solid team after what we have done this off season defensively and offensively we a bit of a surplus issue. So IMO it's not like we needed a ton of Picks in this years shallow draft anyways.We just need to take care of priority concern.

Our only remaining obvious flaw is lack of a pass rush and Left tackle.

Should the opportunity to trade up early arise I would jump on it. Trade the 15 spot maybe even throw Ivory in it for a premier pick such as Dion Jordan or a top Tackle ( I wouldn't trust a weak draft to a OT for a top pick ) We have players on the Practice squad and down the depth chart that could be just as good as Bushrod ...

I'd Trade up and Aim For Dion Jordan So I have an Explosive Pass Rush to go along with the Developing Cameron Jordan , Later I'd take a chance on Tyrann Matheiu because of his Big Play Ability ( Rob Ryan Kinda Spilled The Beans with him already though ). Everything else this year is a Bonus as far as draft Picks.

Pick up a LT late in the Draft or Trade for one with Ivory and We're set

If we trade up from 15 we are going to need to sacrifice some lower round picks. Given we only have 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th to barter with, we could be giving up a lot of what we have to achieve that. That is a huge gamble in this draft to get one player and even the premier players can bust out.

I'd far rather trade down and aquire more picks *or* look at who is available at 15. I think you will be surprised at some of the players that may fall that low. Jarvis Jones is looking like a lock at 15 and I am pretty sold on him.

Here's an interesting little tidbit from Andy Staples:

Jordan, who keeps showing up as a top-five pick in every mock draft I see, finished third in tackles for loss in 2012. Third in the nation? No. There wasn't a No. 3 because South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (the likely No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft) and Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton tied for second with 23.5. Third in the Pac-12? Nope. That was UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr. Jordan finished No. 3 in tackles for loss on his own team with 10.5 (five sacks). And he might go second or third overall?
I get that Jordan's size (6-foot-6, 248 pounds) means he can play defensive end in a 4-3 or outside linebacker in a 3-4, but the idea that a 3-4 team needing a disruptive rusher would take Jordan over Georgia outside linebacker Jarvis Jones -- No. 1 in the nation with 24.5 tackles for loss even though he missed one game with an injury -- is absolutely dumbfounding. At least Jones will go elsewhere in the first round. Stanford's Thomas (6-4, 248) will go three to four rounds after Jordan, and all Thomas did -- playing against the same offensive lines as Jordan -- was get in the backfield more often (14.5 TFL, 7.5 sacks).

The two tackles are said to be going one and two, which puts Dion Jordan's ceiling at 3 or four..... It's just too risky. You would have to give up the 1#15 and the #3 75 just to get close. You don't have enough picks... I understand your not fixing everything with this draft, but we are not one player on offense or defense away from being in the NFC championship game/ Super Bowl either.
Either A. We play it straight up I'd be trying to get Xavier Rhodes, or Kenny vaccaro, or B. you trade down and maximize the pick....

For all the people knocking on Mingo, he's been more productive than both Ansah and equally with Jordan throughout their collegiate careers. He also offers the same amount of upside and honestly, his bust potential given the level of competition at LSU, is probably lower than the previous two.

Do not be surprised to see this happen.

With the limited amount of draft picks, and being a deep one(it's not shallow by any means), there's no need to trade up. While it's not really top heavy, though I think it's debatable given the high boom factor of some of the prospects, but good prospects throughout the first couple of days. If anything, it's a riskier draft top end draft... not a shallow one.

Jordan could become a great pass-rusher. More likely he'll just be a really solid football player

Mingo could become a great pass-rusher. may never be anything more

i would take Jordan over Mingo because he has a better chance of becoming a 3 down player.

still i hate so much hype over actual play ability this high in the draft has major bust written all over it.

i just like players that you have a good idea of what your getting

so if either player is there at 15 i would have to really have no other choice to pick either one

add Ezekiel Ansah, DE/OLB, BYU to the list also

in a perfect world they will all be gone before we draft

We are now assuming NFL development based off of Collegiate career?
