Wuerffel, who lives in Decatur, Ga., noticed he was losing sensation in his legs and strength in his arms shortly after he battled a stomach virus June 4. It's thought that his immune system started to attack the nerves that control movement and sensation, mistaking them for the virus....."

One of my wife's grandfathers developed this after getting a flu shot many years ago.

It got so bad he was paralyzed for a period of time and had to learn to walk again.

He lived many years after "recovering", but said he felt like ants were stinging his legs for years afterwards until he passed away.


Hopefully DW can keep this at bay...
