Pierre Thomas wants the Saints to have 100 yards rushing per game 'non-stop'
 

The first thought that usually comes up in a fans’ mind when they think about the New Orleans Saints is Drew Brees and their passing attack. Saints’ running back Pierre Thomas wants to change that especially now that it is a little less crowded with the departure of Chris Ivory to the New York Jets.

This is what Thomas told The Times-Picayune


“There’s going to be more focus this year on that ground game than any year. He said we’ve got to get back to running the ball, having 100-yard games non-stop. I can’t wait. I’m excited and I know everybody else is excited.”

Thomas also spoke on Ivory’s departure:


“To tell you the truth, Chris was a good weapon,” Thomas said. “Chris is a big weapon, a hard runner. I’m going to miss him. I told him to call me if he needed anything to help him out in this league and if he needed any advice.

People seem to forget that the Saints were ranked 6th in the league on the ground only two years ago. Now with more of a focus on running and head coach Sean Peyton back from suspension, the team seems to be poised to compete with the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.

I really hope there is far more running this year.Most of the league is switching to pass first and defences are focusing on pass prevention,what better time to run the ball down teams throats.They can't stack the box as Drew would open them up.

Yeah, I had a little chuckle over that one myself, :lol:. The Saints have an off year and suddenly they have to "contend" with the Falcons, instead of the other way around, :rolleyes:.

I am going to go ahead and think they are speaking about one year, last year, because over the last 7 we are 11-3 against them

adn even last year we were even split...taking away their undefeated season was just...so tasty!

Payton has already said the Saints running game must return to help the defense...
