Special Teams
 

The Saints have a tremendous number of athletes in camp this year......which hopefully translates to better special teams. We have Sproles(mighty mouse) who can return punts and kicks as well as anyone in the league. We have Morestud who is awesome as a punter and on kick offs plus we have Hartley who made 80% of his kicks last year and owns a Superbowl record.

This all sounds good on paper until I think about the special teams coach McMahon. How can he still have a job with his record? :brood: The FO brought in a new asst. coach to help with special teams, but I personally don't think it was enough to get us where we need to be. Thoughts?

Our return teams are ok.

Its the kicking STs that allow way too much return yardage.

I think that's why we brought Kwan in.... that and to actually stay in their lanes.

the switch to 34 should help out greatly. more LB on special teams.

I didn't know anything about him before now.......I just thought he was some kind of asst. special teams coach.

I don't think he likes the paper pushing part of the job. Since McMahon knows that part of it already, why not let him keep doing it? We could be in for a treat this year with our special teams. Heaven knows we're due.
