I dunno, I guess I just wanna shake it up. But oh well, lets the good times roll because right now, I'm moving in stereo . Its all I can do to keep from being labelled one of thosedangerous type.

No problems though, lets go Saints!

Was looking for more info on him, but can't find much. From what I could find, he was an ok return guy for a bit and had a season or two as a DB. Was hoping you had a reason for me to break out the confetti on this one.

Oh boy. Competition.

He was a rather effective cornerback when he was with the Ravens. I remember enjoying watching him play. On the other hand, signing him would appear to contradict Rob Ryan's statement that this is one of the "most talented" secondaries he's ever worked with. I guess the more the merrier.

But at some point, you have to wonder if you're retarding a player's growth and development...

Case in point, Martez Wilson; from the few opportunities he's had, he seems to be a talented player - but if he can't get on the field, what's the point...

Same with Mark Ingram, why make an investment of not only a first round pick, but additional pick to move back and get him?!?

Payton is the best in the business in game management, but I question the personnel strategy...

Is Carr an improvement from what we have on the team??? Then let these younger players, including Robinson, have more snaps to develop...

entered the NFL with the Raiders as a rookie free agent out of Boise State in 2005 also brings extensive experience to the Saints as a kickoff and punt returner. He has returned 148 punts for 1,073 yards (7.3 avg.) and brought back 256 kickoffs for 6,276 yards (24.5 avg.). Carr set a number of career and single-season kickoff return records in Oakland from 2005-07. He still holds the Raiders’ career record with 201 kickoff returns for 4,841 yards (24.1 avg.), while setting single-season marks for kickoff return yards (1,762) and kickoff return average (25.5) in 2006. Two years later, he set a career-high by averaging 28.1 yards on 35 kickoff returns for the Titans.

So, who was released?!?

Is someone going on Injured Reserve?!?

Is someone not named Charles Brown not Physically Up to Performing?!?

Are we 'redshirting' someone?!?

Looks like Butler's out. Dammit. Carr used to be a returner, but hasn't done that in a couple of years. As sucky as this makes me, I'm just not all over this one -especially now that we could use another player to fill Butler's spot.

You would prefer we play players based on draft round/investment than performance in practice? Being picked in the first round does not guarantee you a seat at the table, it only gains you entry to the dining hall, you have to prove your self before you are allowed at the table.

I for one feel better about a coaching staff that puts the best preforming player of the week on the field come game day than the one getting the most compensation.

If players are not making the most of the plays that they are given on the field it is on them.

This dude was a pretty good player a couple of years ago. Seems like it's worth giving him a shot. Even if he can only be a good dime corner that's probably good insurance against Corey White continuing to suck or Pat Robinson not bouncing back to his 2011 form.

You didn't read what I posted...

The coach made a statement about the talent level being great, then, the next day they signed a FA...

...what I take from that is the Coach was BSing and he's not satisfied with the talent we have a CB...

...the point I alluded to was if we do, indeed, have good talent - let them play, get the repetitions, so they can develop...

...obviously, if they suck, then I could see why we had to sign CBs...

...but don't brag about the talent level, then sign another CB - I just don't believe in signing more vets if the talent, albeit young, inexperienced, is already on the roster...

...now, in the case of Mark Ingram, you believed in him enough to make the draft pick(s) investment - and he's the type of back that needs rhythm, 15+ touches a game...

if he's not getting it done, move him and move on...

Re: Saints sign DB Chris Carr

Talent level and depth are a little different.
Look at our punting situation, excellent talent, no depth.
