New Orleans Saints Training Camp Profile: Travaris Cadet
New Orleans Saints running back Travaris Cadet made a big splash in last season’s preseason, and as a result had earned a spot on the 53-man roster. Cadet is a jack-of-all-trades as he literally does everything from rushing, receiving, and returning. This season, Cadet will be the Saints number-four running back behind Pierre Thomas and will be asked to play a similar role as the recently departed Chris Ivory.
Last season, Cadet played in 13 games, but only rushed once for five yards. However, Cadet did spend most of his time on the special teams returning 26 kickoffs with his longest return being 75 yards. Next season, Cadet will likely spend some more time on the special teams, but he could play wide receiver if necessary. Furthermore, Cadet will probably get some more carries in the backfield with the Saints vowing to get back to their running game. Cadet is a lot like Darren Sproles except that he is bigger and stronger, but not as experienced. Based on his versatility alone, Cadet will make the Saints’ 53-man roster again and he will do whatever the team needs him to do. In training camp he could compete for the number-three running back spot, but the Saints seem set on Sproles, Thomas and Mark Ingram as their top three running backs. Next season, Cadet will probably return some more kickoffs and give Sproles a break from returning duties. Furthermore, Cadet will probably also be on the kickoff team for the Saints as he continues to carve a niche with the Saints’ special teams, perhaps a Courtney Roby 2.0? Re: New Orleans Saints Training Camp Profile: Travaris Cadet
I wish we would use Sproles more on special teams. He needs to make an impact and get playing time to make the plays like when he first came here. Cadet seemed to hit a wall last season and was unimpressive down the stretch. I'm hoping to see that second year jump. He also has a little competition from Khiry Robinson who has been turning heads at OTA's.
Needless to say the competition is going to be tough in TC. Who Dat! :bng: |

If Cadet replaces Ivory then Robinson has a slim chance of making the 53... Unless you think Sean is going to carry 5RBs? |
Re: New Orleans Saints Training Camp Profile: Travaris Cadet
hmmm thought this was about Travaris Cadet
Cadet has to improve his blitz pick up and prove he can catch the ball better out of the back field. if he does he will free all the RB to do more. i pray he has a break out season and put a major boost to third down play calling. if he does it will be a dynamic impact for the RB corp as a whole |
Re: New Orleans Saints Training Camp Profile: Travaris Cadet
Is cadet a better version of Reggie b?

Re: New Orleans Saints Training Camp Profile: Travaris Cadet
not near as electric as Reggie.
I see him as a possible player that can play much like PT yet having the ability to have some of Sproils skill sets if he can get it all to come together |
Re: New Orleans Saints Training Camp Profile: Travaris Cadet
Reggies high voltage didn't work out so well for him.
