Re: Saints place three on PUP?
Butler will hurt... but we just might get lucky... either he gets back for the playoffs, or our other LBers develop nicely, or both.

Re: Saints place three on PUP?
According to PUP rules, either player can come back to practice at any point prior to the season, but I'm not too optimistic about that happening, particularly in the case of Robinson. P-Rob is dealing with a knee injury sustained during minicamp this off-season. Meanwhile, Roman Harper's reason for landing on the PUP list is unspecified, just the way we like it.
The biggest winners of Roman Harper and Patrick Robinson on PUP are Vaccaro and Corey White. Tons of 1st team reps await them. — Saints Nation Blog (@SaintsNationBlg) July 24, 2013 Which means opportunity is knocking for Kenny Vaccaro, Jabari Greer and Corey White. With two first team level talents now completely missing training camp reps, those spots are wide open and for the taking. Vaccaro has possibly the most to gain from Harper's absence. All the Roman Harper haters out there just creamed their pants. Yesterday was like their Christmas. As a first round draft pick, Vaccaro was already expected to contribute early. Now he's practically got no choice. We'll get to see what he's made of sooner rather than later. Which is good because I'm a very impatient man. Just ask my proctologist. Considering Vaccaro's pedigree, I'd expect him to embrace this situation and not flounder in confusion. With Robinson out, it means Jabari Greer can breath a sigh of relief. A little bit of the heat is off him for the time being. Which should leave him more time to purse all that artsy crap he's into. If Greer plays well, he could really solidify himself as the No. 2 cornerback behind Keenan Lewis. Of course the same could be said for Corey White. He's the potential underdog story here. But at the very least, White probably steps into the starting nickel spot, which is a promotion. Saints training camp is still a few days away but things are picking up steam, football-type events are starting to happen and it's making me tingly in my pants! Are you getting excited!?!?!? Re: Saints place three on PUP?
This team needs to find a way to stop hurting each other. I know competition is tough and you have to show what you can do. But we can't really afford to lose what little we have defensively. P-Rob is a bust to me. Another 1st round waste. We have no luck with drafting defensive players highly. Just hope Kenny V is not the same. It's going to be real hard for him to come right in with no NFL experience and be on top of this game. I wanted an experienced top Strong safety through free agency but it did not happen.

Re: Saints place three on PUP?
Sean does this every year. No cause for concern. Akin to Greg Popovich protecting his lineup when it matters most.

Was it an injury from last year they kept hidden? Was it during the off-season? Was it recent? If PRob was hurt last year, it sure helps explain some of his struggles. |

Re: Saints place three on PUP?
Robinson's injury is supposedly minor. There was an excerpt posted in an article a while back mentioning it but it wasn't made a big deal given its severity. I'm sure they're just being cautious with him and Harper for that matter.

Re: Saints place three on PUP?
P-rob being injured should give corey white more of a role in the slot again, which frankly I'm happier about.
Corey white could become a big player for us if he plays anything like he did before he got injured |
Re: Saints place three on PUP?
Butler is on the team but has not played ONE snap. How can he be "missed?" That's like saying I miss the one million dollars I almost didn't win!
