I heard Bobby Hebert loves the guy. :)

Re: Eric Martin may be the guy.

At a relatively small 6-1, 237 (combine measurements) he's probably a better fit at SAM than the Jack, but he would be the 1st smallish LB succeed.

Nope; Stills, Tanner, Malcolm Jenkins, Charlie Brown, and Vaccaro all seemed to have a good opening practice though

Hoping Wilson didn't break his left arm

And Chamberlain was taking snaps with the ones instead of Lofton; not sure if that was injury related or not

I don't know where you're coming from with that comment, but Chamberlain looked really good last off-/preseason before he got injured.

He was drafted by the Rams as a safety so he has some ball skills which might come in handy when dropping back into coverage.

I for one have moderately high hopes for him making the final 53, at least if he plays at the level he did a year ago before his season ending injury.

Not too mention; he was the Rams special teams ace! He could upset Roby as the top gunner...

I'm for anyone who can come in and rise above the muck that has been the Saints LBs for the last decade (or two). We've been lucky with Vilma and Lofton inside recently and Fujita was was pretty good but for the most part Lb has been a weak spot way too long.

Every where I'm looking has him listed at 6'2" and 250 lbs. I don't know. You can never tell what is good info these days. There is a good bit of video of him on YouTube. I like the way he plays. Relentless...hustler. He played special teams in college, too.

I remember a linebacker we had long time ago that was what 5'9" sam mills and he worked out just fine

Re: Eric Martin may be the guy.

Not too sure what he ran at the combine; but he's pretty damn quick in that video. A lot of times, he's already in the backfield as soon as the QB gets the ball...

At his pro day he ran a 4.53 forty yard dash.

I agree. He seems to be well spoken in interviews, too, which would lead me to believe he is relatively intelligent. I hope that he keeps impressing and working hard. I he is really 6'2" 250 like ESPN and NFL list him, he isn't too far outside of the average size that other comparable players are at that position. Demarcus Ware, Anthony Spencer, Vonn Miller, and Aldon Smith all reside in the 250-265 pound range at their playing weight.

His combine and pro-day measurements are 6-1 (6'-3/4"), 237 lbs but extremely fast.

03/16/13 - 2013 Nebraska Pro Day: Eric Martin, DE (6-1, 237 pounds) - Martin posted a best time of 4.53 in the 40, went 3.97 in the short shuffle and 6.63 in the cone drill. He’s a possible sixth or seventh-round selection for an NFL team looking to the late rounds for some extra defensive help. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

Re: Eric Martin may be the guy.

Dang...I must have missed that one. ESPN.com and NFL.com have him listed at 6'2" 250 lbs on his player profile, but I'm sure his pro day measurements are more accurate. Oh well....here's to hoping he can bulk up. lol

Re: Eric Martin may be the guy.

Didn't colston run 4.58 at 220lb's?

for a guy at martins size to run that 40 is impressive, I'm hearing good things about him from camp also

He made more plays in those highlights than the whole Saints defense did in 2012. :)
