Drew Brees clears up tip controversy
Let there be peace in WhoDat Nation!!
*********************************************************New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees should not have to take time out of his busy training camp schedule to explain how he spends his money, but he obviously cares about his image. Earlier this week, gossip site The Dirty posted the photo you see above above of a dinner receipt that allegedly belonged to Brees. As you can see, he left a $3.00 tip on a $74.41 bill. Of course, no one attempted to get the entire story. Have you ever called in an order for a bunch of pizzas or something and gone and picked them up yourself? For those who are unfamiliar with that concept, it’s called takeout. And since you don’t really have a server for a takeout order, there’s generally no need to tip anywhere close to 20%. In fact, most people don’t tip at all when ordering takeout. What Brees tips is really nobody’s business, but you can understand why he wanted to clarify. The picture of the receipt without context made him look like an a-hole (or “cheap bastard” as The Dirty phrased it), and we know how much the internet loves when millionaires don’t tip well. Now, back to football. Drew Brees clears up tip controversy | Larry Brown Sports |

The problem with the world today. We rush to get a story out. Never checking the facts or getting both sides of the story. Just put it on the internet. Drew should said Next Question.

Hoda defends 'make-believe boyfriend' Drew Brees over $3 tip - KLG and Hoda
Koda Kotb taking about her make-beleive boyfriend. Too funny. She is on his side . See link. Take-out. That part has been omitted on reports.Take out. Meaning, you call in and someone answers. That send your order to the ktichen. A waitstaff brings it out or somebody going to or from the kitchen. You show up,usually a the bar. No one in particular takes your order. The have it bagged for you. You sign. Go home. Yeah, $3.00 is a small amt.on a $77 bill. still, what should he have left? $20.00 for take out. Really? LOL. No. Read the comments. Most people thought it was ok and have done the same. I leave something of that amt.that left for take-out too. Seated is something different. I wish he would have left say, $6.00.That is nothing for him, but a nice tip for whoever is the lucky person to give his order , the bag of food to him. Many people probably worked on his order? Give everybody ? Where does it stop? LOL. Not because we are fans, no, he has been very charitable with organizations of schools and things in New olreans. I feel bad for him becaue the new thing is to show the reciept of someone well-known. Put them on blast . Not fair, ugly and really should be and the places of establishmen should fire those employees who do. Do you want anyone to know what you bought and when, and what restaurant and how much you spent? NO!! |
Re: Drew Brees clears up tip controversy
I remember eating at a Mexican place on the Riverwalk in San Antonio that the service utterly sucked at.
I left them a tip - 1 shiny new penny in the bottom of my glass... |
Re: Drew Brees clears up tip controversy
What a non-story. Of course, BSPN has been beating this dead horse all day. Lame.

Re: Drew Brees clears up tip controversy
Thank goodness! I was really concerned that Drew Brees only tipped 3$ on a 70$ pick up...I think I'm gonna go put my head in the oven now.

Re: Drew Brees clears up tip controversy
I was never concerned about this. The only thing I want to know is whether the person who posted the picture was trying to start crap, or if it was just the website stirring it up... or both.
I would like to know who all to be mad at. Actually, never mind. I don't even care about that. |
