1 Attachment(s)
New Orleans Saints defensive end Kenyon Coleman was the latest player to sustain an injury as he left Tuesday's practice with a chest ailment, coach Sean Payton said after the morning session. Payton said he'd have more to offer once the team evaluates the injury.
Coleman had been a regular on the first-team defensive line, and the Saints plan on using him as a rotational player. Payton said he had no update to provide on the status of wide receiver Joe Morgan's injured knee. Payton said Morgan went to receive a second opinion on the injury Monday. Morgan wasn't on the practice field Tuesday. Linebacker Jonathan Vilma sat out his second consecutive practice, but Payton said Vilma should return for Tuesday afternoon's walkthrough. Payton said Monday he wanted to be cautious concerning practice time for players like Vilma and wide receiver Marques Colston so both will be healthy for the regular season. Others who sat out of Tuesday's practice were linebacker Martez Wilson, linebacker Victor Butler, linebacker Ray Shipman, linebacker Eric Martin, defensive lineman Tom Johnson and wide receiver Andy Tanner. Cornerback Jabari Greer went through all of the beginning portions of practice, but didn't take a snap during any of the team drills. Quarterback Seneca Wallace was also limited sitting out team drills. New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Kenyon Coleman sustains chest injury during Tuesday's practice | NOLA.com |
