Didn't read every post, but it seems most everyone is down on Will Smith. I can't disagree with most of the assessments, but I want to give credit where it is due.
There was a play where Alex Smith was forced out of the pocket and ran towards the right sideline. He was being chased by a d-lineman and had Will Smith between him and what would have been a good gain. Will's hustle kept Alex from getting to the outside causing him to throw the ball away. It looked to me like Will couldn't possibly run faster and gave 100% on that play...in the preseason...game 1 no less. He may not have it for OLB, but that's great leadership. |
