There seems to be a few rumours going round the net that Vilma could be getting traded to the Eagles.

Not sure if there is anything in it or not.

If true this would be a good thing. I don't see him making it through a whole year. We can then grab another team's excess that came close.

If it did happen it would free up an additional $3.8 million in cap space. That might give us enough "wiggle room" to pick up vet like perhaps ... Richard Seymore.

Greer and Ivory both went to Phili for Sports Hernia surgery.... Coincidentally, that is also where we send players when they are traded to the Eagles.

(Vilma+Flight to Philadelphia)= Vilma going to Philadelphia
(Wednesday Practice- Vilma)/(Vilma - hurt at practice Tuesday) = Vilma healthy and not at practice.

I understand it from the Saints view. Dump the salary of an aging veteran, who isn't best in the 3-4, and get a draft pick. Humber plays like a young Vilma by the way. He really flashed against the Chiefs. I can see why the Eagles would be interested. Bring in a proven vet to provide leadership and solid play. Try to compete this year as best you can. My guess it's injury related though.

Been a long time since I seen Vilma play a full game, much less a full season.
Trade him? Trade him for what? So he goes to Philly and sits on IR there?

Never made sense that the Eagles would trade for Vilma. They've switched to a 3-4 as well so why in the world would they trade for a guy that there's so much speculation about whether he'll fit into our 3-4 and his knee is essentially breaking down.
