Not a surprise.

So McCown it is. He certainly earned it.

Yeah, Luke played much better vs. the Chiefs and Griffin did better vs. the Raiders. Two more games to determine if Griffin can progress enough to supplant McCown

McCown it will be, he has the experience.

Although it's been in small volume, I've been impressed with McCown this training camp. This release comes as no surprise after Seneca's anemic performance Friday night. Anyway, who cares? We have Breesus at the #1 spot! :-)

wallace still showed why he never could get in the game.
hands too small/ can't hold the ball.

I really thought he was going to do better. After the Raider game though, I couldn't wait for him to be gone.

I never expected him to stick around.

He played very well for sure, and that kid we got from Tulane shows promise too for somewhere down the road maybe.

McCown will be a good backup to Brees and Griffin with be the Saint future.

Wallace looked awful against the Raiders.
Saw this coming as an eventuality.

No surprise here.

He was awful. Playing with backups, I get that but he made some serious errors that he should not be making with his experience. Wish him the best. Hopefully he can get on somewhere just not here.

Re: Saints have released QB Seneca Wallace

That whole quarter was painful to watch.

I wouldn't say he's GREAT but that Griffin kid has the "it" factor, the intangible thing I look for in a QB, which can make up for other deficiencies. That drive that ended with the 4th down on the 1, where they got stuffed, but he looked like he showed good poise and leadership to me. RG4!

Not surprised either. Regardless of performance, it was his demeanor that I noticed. He looked like he'd have just as happy sitting next me on the couch as he was getting in the game. Not good.

He was terrible....

Re: Saints have released QB Seneca Wallace

Griffin looked much more at ease in game two than he did in game one. If he continues that improvement over the next two games, I feel comfortable with him being the backup QB. With the current weapons on offense, a great head coach in his ear, and an improved defense, the Saints can win games with Griffin at QB. It's all a numbers game. With the injuries at LB, and the overall talent on the team, to keep three QB's on the roster would mean a quality WR, DLineman, Safety or CB won't make the team. Griffin has played more QB the last four years than McNown. I just don't see it as that big of a roll of the dice.

wow... that was kinda quick... thought the guy might get a longer look...

but did anybody else think Ryan Griffin (Tulane guy) looked pretty durn
good too?

Re: Saints have released QB Seneca Wallace

Skymike you really didn't see enough? I actually felt sorry for him and thought if they don't pull him we are going to see him get really hurt. Funny about Atlanta but even they are not that stupid. We may see him as a coach somewhere but it probably is time to hang up the old cleats.
