Antoine Winfield to be cut by Seahawks; Drayton Florence to be cut by Panthers.
 

Just read on PFT that the Seahawks are cutting (or trading) Antoine Winfield and the Panthers are parting ways with Drayton Florence.

The Seahawks are loaded at corner so the cutting of Winfield isn't a huge shock. Drayton Florence getting cut is a bit of a surprise given that he was listed as a starter for the Panthers. Florence is something of a journeyman, having played for six different NFL teams in some capacity.

In any case, just thought I would share the news. I've always enjoyed watching Winfield, although he is 36 years old now. Drayton Florence is 32, so these guys aren't exactly part of the "youth movement," but it will be interesting to see where they land.

Think Safety, a general in the secondary is needed. Sharper type!!

Winfield is a player I always wanted on the Saints but is has time pasted.

League has to approve all contracts.... Won't happen when it goes over the Cap substantially

You know that Loomis and company are scouring the wire for the players that they have their eyes on. I wonder how many scouts it takes to break down film on all the competition fringe players?
