New NFL LAWSUIT
They will be lumped into the class action suit.
Ambulance chasing lawyers~ Three wives -- Chandra Williams, Nancy Mauti and Billie Keyes -- also are plaintiffs. They say that brain injuries have deprived them and will deprive other NFL spouses of their husbands' "services, society, and companionship." The former players say each has had headaches, dizziness, memory loss, depression, cognitive dysfunction and medical bills because of concussions and other brain injuries, and will have future expenses which they and their wives will have to pay for and future problems that will require their wives' care. Jimmy Keyes ~ played 17 total games in 68-69 as LB/K zero tackles http://www.nfl.com/player/jimmykeyes...97/careerstats Rich Mauti ~ played 8 years 21 receptions ST guy *only one with a possible legitimate claim* http://www.nfl.com/player/richmauti/2520396/profile Nolan Franz ~ 1 season, 1 game, 1 reception http://www.nfl.com/player/nolanfranz/2514387/profile Jimmy Williams ~ So many I can't tell which one it is lol. |

Re: New NFL LAWSUIT
Sue happy country. Why can't people take responsibility for their actions instead of blaming them on other people?
Yes, there are legitimate complaints in this lawsuit but dumbasses like these 3 getting involved - its just sucking of the teat of the NFL, like jackals. |
Re: New NFL LAWSUIT
The settlement from the other lawsuit amounted to $173,000 per player. Of which a little lump gets paid now, and most of it doesn't even get paid out until something like 17 years from now. Which set a legal precedent, and now, odds are pretty good that's going to be the standard payout for all similar cases and suits going forward. Now these guys and anybody else can line up and get $173,000 per player.
The league will just pass the cost on to the season ticket holders, sponsorships, and future TV revenues. It's really just a drop in the bucket compared to what the real payouts could have been if the original lawsuit had gone to a jury. $173,000 per person. For the owners, it's basically the same thing as if the rookie league minimum just went up by about a third, on paper, for the first year any guy plays. Or $9 million for every 53 men on the roster, although many will never collect. |
