Chris Chamberlain’s agent to file grievance against Saints

I hope this doesn't give Goodell another chance/reason to go after the Saints!
********************************************************
Linebacker Chris Chamberlain suffered a torn ACL last preseason with the New Orleans Saints that landed him on injured reserve for the entirety of the 2012 season.

Chamberlain was once again placed on injured reserve during the Saints’ cut-down to 75 players last week. On Tuesday, the Saints released Chamberlain from their injured reserve list with a designation that he failed to disclose a physical condition. The move could allow the Saints to get out of financial commitments that were otherwise owed to Chamberlain.

However, Chamberlain’s agent, Mark Slough, isn’t buying the reasoning behind the Saints move. Slough tweeted Tuesday that it was “bull” that Chamberlain had a prior undisclosed condition the team wasn’t aware of and they intend to file a grievance over the move.

Chamberlain never appeared in a regular season game for the Saints but started 16 games over four seasons with the St. Louis Rams, His best season came in 2011 when he recorded 81 tackles with two sacks, a forced fumble and an interception before signing with the Saints in free agency.

It is hard to look at perpetual hurt as a hidden condition...

This may all boil down to due diligence.... How thorough was his precontract physical and eval.

As Shakespeare once said: To Post or Not To Post .... that is THE question?

It's easier to look at the post than to look for it.

The guy was cut. What does his attorney expect to happen, that he'll be re-signed? Who cares what was written on his dismissal slip? He got paid extremely well for a year to rehab and never played a real down for the team. It was in the player's interest to hide injury and get "injured" again during training camp. It's in the team's interest to ferret it out.

I'm usually not on management's side in such disputes, but this guy's throwing good money after bad.

I'm not clear on exactly what was hidden if the injury they're referring to is the ACL tear ... if it kept him out the entire 2012 season, you're aware of it, eh? Did he tear it again and not report it to team doctors? It ain't something you can really hide ... if he can't play, he can't play, there's got to be a way to terminate the contract as well ...

Devils Advocate here. :)

This is the NFL brother if a contract could be terminated due to injury who would be left?

No one, but there are many levels of injury and contract/employment law that come into play.

I'm just wondering if it is the ACL injury they're referring to or if he had something else going on that he did not disclose to the organization and that could not be attributed to the organization, which would more clearly explain the Saint's position ... to me anyway. Right now, I'm confused over what was "hidden".
