Question for the Forum
In 2009 the last 3 games were home against Dallas & Tampa Bay and @ Carolina.
If the Saints had beaten Dallas, would the Saints have tried to go un-defeated? If they had beaten Dallas, I think they would have played the last 2 games like game 3 of the preseason; play the starters for a half. |
Re: Question for the Forum
I think they would have played for the undefeated season. All out against Tampa and Carolina.

Re: Question for the Forum
As I recall I had the feeling we'd go for it had we won that game.

Re: Question for the Forum
Depends on how beat up we were after the next game.

Re: Question for the Forum
It's not a question for the forum, LOL, it's a question somebody should have asked Payton at 2 AM at Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar during his suspension!!!!
Just kidding....I honestly do think in that situation Payton would have probably gone for the history books, but I also think at the first sign of trouble (for example an angry Julius Peppers getting in Drew's grill) he would have backed down and taken his foot off the gas. This is totally a question for someone to ask in the autograph line at his next book signing or if anyone gets him in a corner at a charity event. |
Re: Question for the Forum
Who cares. We won the Super Bowl.

Re: Question for the Forum
I kind of still believe Payton dialed back the playbook that ultimately put the Saints in the position to drop the Dallas, Washington, and Tampa games, its all a question if the Saints went 16-0, would they went to the SB and win it?
They came out beasting vs Arizona. |
Re: Question for the Forum
You can get 20-1 odds to win the Superbowl. Looks like I'm in for $100.

Re: Question for the Forum
Hard to second guess, after what the end result was. But we all have thought about it.

Re: Question for the Forum
He may have pursued his first dream which is a Superbowl victory.
