Making short study of match ups

I know a lot of you do not play Fantasy Football... BUT... when you see someone like Papz or other members comment about some obscure player you have never heard of or wonder how in the heck did he know that about a defense that is rarely in the news, chances are they are either in their FF Team or like I do... I use the FF match up comments to guide me to understanding the match ups that the Saints face.

Examples:

Marques Colston:
Marques Colston (foot) was a full participant in Saints practice Wednesday.

Advice: Colston was over his foot issues a couple weeks ago. He dressed for the important third preseason game and played in the finale. Colston caught nine passes and a touchdown in two games against the Falcons last season. He's a solid, reliable WR2 this week and for the duration of the season.

Atlanta's Defense
They did pick off Brees 6 times last year but he's general a tough matchup for a fantasy D.

Week 1 vs. New Orleans

New Orleans gave up the 5th fewest fantasy points to Team Defenses last season.

Arian Foster:
Coach Gary Kubiak confirmed Arian Foster will not receive a full workload in Week 1 against the Chargers.

Advice: Overworked the past three seasons, Foster will be eased into the 2013 campaign after failing to take a single preseason carry. "Obviously I don't think Arian's going to be a 30-carry guy on opening night," Kubiak said. Foster could still prove RB2-worthy on 15-17 attempts, assuming Ben Tate handles the rest of the workload. The Texans open the season against the Chargers next week.

Ronnie Hillman

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos plan to use a running back by committee on a "drive-by-drive" basis.

Advice: As opposed to a "play-by-play" basis, the "drive-by-drive" formula will allow Ronnie Hillman, Montee Ball, and Knowshon Moreno to "stay in" and "go fast" in the Broncos' hurry-up attack. Hillman is expected to get the "start" on Thursday, but it's anyone's guess who will end up leading the backfield in touches against the Ravens. Our money's on Ball. As our own Evan Silva noted in his "Matchups" column, it's best to take a wait-and-see approach for the opener.
