Saints are approaching health on defense, finally
After an offseason of wondering whether they’d have any degree of pass-rushers, the Saints are approaching health just in time.
According to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, outside linebackers Junior Galette and Martez Wilson are both probable for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. Having those two back, along with trade acquisition Parys Haralson, gives the Saints some parts to work with. Wilson and Galette each missed time in camp with injuries, after they lost free agent pickup Victor Butler to a season-ending knee injury in OTAs. While that doesn’t take into account the players lost for the season or at least half of it (including Will Smith, Kenyon Coleman and Jonathan Vilma), it’s a solid first step for a new defense with a big challenge Sunday. Defensive end Glenn Foster and safety Isa Abdul-Quddus were listed as out, but everyone else on the New Orleans report is probable, meaning they’ll play.
